The Avengers from 1,000,000 BC are returning just in time for Marvel Comics "fresh start."

Created by Jason Aaron and Mike Deodato Jr., and introduced by Aaron and Esad Ribic in Marvel Legacy #1, the prehistoric super team will be featured in the new Avengers title spinning out of the current "No Surrender" Avengers event as part of Marvel's 2018 line-wide overhaul. For the first time in a long time, this will be the sole Avengers series Marvel will publish.

According to IGN, the new Avengers title by Aaron and Ed McGuinness will follow the storytelling format from the writer's run on Thor: God of Thunder. This means that the book will go back and forth between the modern team and the prehistoric version.

The new teams will include Captain America, Iron Man, Thor, Captain Marvel, Black Panther, Ghost Rider (Robbie Reyes), Hulk (Jennifer Walters), and Doctor Strange. This group seems to at least partially reflect the BC team, the original line-up of which included Odin, Ghost rider, Agamotto, Black Panther, Phoenix, and Starbrand.

The two storylines will be tied together by a common threat in the Dark Celestials, an offshoot of the giant space gods that helped create the universe. Strange's time on the team is said to be limited, with rotating cast members added for each new story arc.
