The Marvel Cinematic Universe keeps growing and growing. After over twenty films and with numerous streaming series on the horizon, dozens of characters have made their way to the big screen. But even after all that, numerous members of the Avengers have yet to make it into the MCU.

Some of the missing Avengers are pretty heavy hitters whose absence is glaring. Others, less so. All of them will likely show up at some point in the franchise to varying degrees, though some may take longer than others.

10 Doctor Druid Could Join Doctor Strange's Multiverse

Doctor Druid

Doctor Druid joined the Avengers in the late '80s and was a fixture in the team through the mid-'90s until his death. This mystic sorcerer derived his powers from the Ancient One, like Doctor Strange. With that in mind, Doctor Druid could be a redundant addition to the MCU.

In fact, in the comics, the Ancient One had selected Druid as a backup in the event that Strange didn't work out. Depending on how crazy the upcoming Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness movie gets, there could be cause for a cameo for the character. Perhaps it's a potential role for Bruce Campbell.

9 Sentry Would Be Another Character Powered By The Super Soldier Serum

Sentry is a more recent member of the team who joined after the events of Civil War. Sentry is probably best known among comic fans as something of a Superman knockoff. He even wears a very large S on his belt.

The major difference is Sentry is much more of a villain at times. His powers mostly derive from the Super Soldier serum that gave Steve Rogers his abilities, so there is at least the potential to connect Sentry to the Super Soldier Program if the MCU decides to do so.

8 Quasar Could Be Used To Bring Captain Marvel's Kree-Based Origins To The MCU

Quasar is a prominent cosmic Marvel hero and stands a pretty good chance of factoring into the MCU at some point, given the direction that it's going in. Quasar's powers derive from the Quantum Bands, which the Kree created to mimic the Nega-Bands which were the source of the original Captain Marvel's powers.

Though the MCU has taken a different tack with Captain Marvel and her powers, there is potential to connect the two through the Kree in the movies.

7 Firestar's Origin As A Cartoon Character Means She Already Has Screen Experience

Firestar

Firestar is the rare Marvel superhero who actually debuted in a different medium than the comics. Like Harley Quinn from DC, Firestar debuted in a famous cartoon— Spider-Man And His Amazing Friends. She then moved into the comics and eventually became a member of the Avengers.

Angelica Jones has been a member of a few teams in the comics, including New Warriors and the X-Men. That makes her ideal for the MCU at some point.

6 Tigra's Connection To Moon Knight Makes Her Pending MCU Debut Very Likely

Tigra

Tigra spent a little time with the main Avengers team not long after her debut in the comics. That didn't work out, but she later became a founding member of the West Coast Avengers.

Tigra underwent an experimental procedure to gain her powers and cat-like appearance. She is also revered as a member of the Cat People. She has longstanding ties to Moon Knight in the comic books, and given the fact that he is getting a solo series on Disney+ soon, she has a chance to show up there.

5 Namor Being Tied To The Fantastic Four Is No Longer A Rights Issue For The MCU

Namor attacks Hulk with trident in Marvel Comics

Namor is one of the most important characters of all of Marvel Comics, and one of the most glaring omissions so far in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Rights issues have kept the Prince of Atlantis on the sidelines, but it's likely that he will make an appearance in the not too distant future.

This villain of the Fantastic Four has also been a member of the Avengers, as well as the Illuminati. Given the direction of the MCU, it seems natural that he would figure largely in their future plans.

4 Wonder Man Has An Important History With Scarlet Witch And Vision

Wonder Man

Wonder Man has been both a main team Avenger and West Coast Avenger over the years. Simon Williams started off as a villain, invested with his powers by Baron Zemo, but later joined the team. Wonder Man also has strong ties to the Scarlet Witch and Vision.

He had a relationship with her during the tenure on the West Coast Avengers, and his brain patterns served as the template for resurrecting the Vision after he had been dismantled. All of this makes him a likely candidate to show up in WandaVision.

beast-gray

Hank McCoy is one of the most beloved and well-known X-Men. He has also been an Avenger. Beast joined the team after leaving the X-Men in the '70s. During this time, he mutated into his gray beast form. The X-Men are coming to the MCU eventually and it would be fun for fans to see Hank emerge within the ranks of the Avengers.

To distinguish him from the Fox X-Men Beast, it might help to make him gray. The blue version was pretty well covered and that version of the X-Men character is maybe best avoided.

2 Spider-Woman Is One Of The Biggest Spider-People To Not Yet Get A Movie Adaptation

Jessica Drew as Spider-Woman in Marvel Comics

Spider-Woman feels like a character who is on the verge of appearing in the MCU at any moment. Rumors abound about the character in the growing Sony wing of the Marvel franchise. Jessica Drew is the first Spider-Woman, but she's just one of the powerful women to bear the name.

Jessica joined the Avengers in 2009 and would make for a fantastic member of the movie version of the team. She remains an important ally of the team in the comic books.

1 Hercules Has A Fun History With Thor That Should Be Explored On Screen

Hercules smiling and giving a thumbs up

While Norse gods abound in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Greek gods have yet to show up— but when they do, Hercules is sure to count among them. Hercules joined the team in the late '60s, after being set up as a rival to Thor and then an eventual friend and ally.

Hercules is a fun, strong, and unique character who seems like an oversight for the MCU at this point. It's easy to imagine as the franchise evolves in the future that this major member of the team will find his way to the screen.
