Last week, Avatar: The Last Airbender came to Netflix, and users have already made it the most popular offering on the streaming site.
According to What's On Netflix, among the top ten popular TV series on Netflix US, Avatar: The Last Airbender is at the top of the list. Other entries on the list include CW stalwarts Riverdale and The Flash, as well as the popular comedy series The Office.
The series debuted on Nickelodeon in 2005 and centers around the adventures of Aang, the latest incarnation of the element-bending Avatar. After sitting frozen in an iceberg for a hundred years, Aang awoke to a world at war. With the help of his companions, he battled the tyrannical Fire Nation and brought peace to the world. The series has received critical acclaim for its complex characters, world-building, and stunning animation.
Avatar: The Last Airbender spawned a spinoff series, The Legend of Korra, as well as several comic book series. A live-action series is currently in development at Netflix, with original series creators Bryan Konietzko and Michael Dante DiMartino attached.
All three seasons of Avatar: The Last Airbender are currently available to stream on Netflix.
