Nickelodeon and Paramount Home Entertainment's The Ultimate Aang and Korra Blu-ray Collection will include all three seasons of Avatar: The Last Airbender and all four seasons of its sequel series, The Legend of Korra. The bonus disc includes a special feature with series creators Michael Dimartino and Bryan Konietzko doing an auditory exploration of the Avatarverse. Also included on the bonus disc is a new recording with Janet Varney and Dante Basco, the hosts of the Avatar: Braving the Elements podcast and voices of Korra and Zuko/General Iroh, respectively. Special features from previously released editions of each series are bundled in as well, offering audio commentary, behind-the-scenes featurettes, panel discussions and more.

Airing for 61 episodes from 2005 to 2008, Avatar: The Last Airbender follows Aang, a young boy who is the current Avatar -- an individual capable of manipulating, or "bending," all four elements and is responsible for maintaining a balance between each of the world's four nations. With Aang being the sole survivor of the Air Nomads, he teams up with a group of friends and sets off to stop the Fire Nation from conquering the other nations of the world.

Meanwhile, The Legend of Korra, which ran for 52 episodes across four seasons from 2012 to 2014, follows Aang's predecessor as Avatar, a teenage girl named Korra. Set in a modernizing world 70 years after the events of The Last Airbender, the series sees Korra strive to live up to Aang's legacy as she masters the four elements in the face of various political and spiritual conflicts arising around her. Both series have become known for their unique blend of traditional American animation and Japanese-style anime as well as their talented voice cast and exploration of complex themes.

Though some fans were disappointed to hear Netflix proceeding with filming its live-action Avatar adaptation despite the departure of the show's creators, many remain hopeful for future animated projects from Avatar Studios, which launched earlier this year. Yet, fans still have years to wait for new content, according to Konietzko. "Mike [Dimartino] and I, we're building an awesome team very slowly at Avatar Studios," the co-creator said during a recent interview. "Small team, but we're working our way up -- and it'll be years before that stuff's out -- but so excited to share all that with everybody. We've got a bunch of cool stuff in the works."

The Ultimate Aang and Korra Blu-ray Collection will release Dec. 7 and retail for $97.99.
