Since its debut, Avatar: The Last Airbender has taken the hearts of many and has been continuously ranked as one of the best television shows ever. It oftentimes appears within the top five of any "best TV" list and has made waves for multiple generations. Though the show aired in 2005, it is still popular today and is widely spoken of throughout pop culture. The show has just recently been brought back to Netflix for streaming as the service gets ready to make its own live-action version.

This show exceeds in a number of aspects, and one of the most lovable and successful ways is its characters. Not only do they all have tremendous growth and development from the first episode to the last, but they are all uniquely relatable in their own ways. Here are some of the Myers-Briggs personality types for the main characters. Who do you align with?

10 ENTJ, The Commander - Sokka

As the self-proclaimed leader of Team Avatar, Sokka has made himself become such a wonderful leader, making him perfect for the role of the ENTJ. At the beginning of the series, Sokka wanted to be a warrior, yet he didn't really know what that consisted of. Over time he grew, learning that it meant taking charge and protecting his team. Sokka is a bold character with unique ideas throughout the series. He is constantly coming up with creative strategies that most others wouldn't think of. As the only non-bender in the group, he sometimes feels down on himself, but he never lets that stop him from trying. With his trusty boomerang, he can do anything.

9 ENFJ, The Protagonist - Suki

Kyoshi warrior Suki wearing a gold hat with tassels and grinning in ATLA.

Suki is the brave, charismatic, and inspiring leader of the Kyoshi warriors. Her warriors listen to her without question and always take Suki's advice. She is passionate about her causes, first of protecting her village and then defending Aang and helping him save the world. She is more than willing to help others, to teach them how to become fighters. For example, she taught Sokka even though he tried to belittle her skills. Suki is also not afraid to say what's on her mind.

8 INFP, The Mediator - Iroh

INFPs, also known as the dreamers, are people who are always eager to help a good cause and find the good within people who may have lost their way. Iroh's main characteristics within the show fits this description perfectly. Iroh is constantly seen helping as many lost souls as he can. The main one being Zuko. He is constantly trying to help Zuko find his path and only wants the best for his nephew. In "Tales of Ba Sing Se" he helps a thief realize the errors of his ways. Iroh even offers advice to Aang and Toph while they are on the opposing side. Iroh also has a spiritual side to him and is truly in touch with nature and the spirit world.

7 ENFP, The Campaigner - Aang

Aang is the perfect example of an ENFP. He is a free-spirited boy who often finds ways to put smiles on people's faces. Aang not only wants to protect people physically as the avatar, but also emotionally. He constantly tries to make people happy, even if it's just by doing goofy things.

Aang sees that the entire world is all connected, knows that sometimes things have different meanings than it may appear, another trait of an ENFP. He can be serious when he needs to be but is still able to let loose and have a good time.

6 ISTJ, The Logistician - Zuko

Happy Zuko

Zuko is a logistician. He has a tireless dedication to his honor and duty of finding the avatar. At the beginning of the series, he believes this is the only way for him to restore his honor and to help his father in the war. Zuko is raised to believe that the fire nation is doing the right thing by taking over the other nations, he doesn't see the destruction it's actually causing. ISTJs have a strong urge to follow the rules and take responsibility for their actions. Ozai made Zuko believe that he deserved to be punished, a sin that Zuko was atoning for. Once Zuko realized the errors of his way and the corruption of the fire lord and nation, he had a difficult time changing his path, but once he did, he knew it was the correct choice.

5 ESTJ, The Executive - Azula

Azula on Avatar: The Last Airbender

Azula makes a wonderful executive due to her sheer power over people. She rules with fear, an ability that someone with an ESTJ personality is not afraid to do. She controls Mai and Ty Lee, two people she considers her friends, with fear. She is the princess after all and they feel the need to listen to her. Azula attempts to control everyone she meets. Zuko, Iroh, her mother, even random boys she meets on the beach of Ember Island. Throughout the show, she is preparing herself to become the next fire lord, and through her own twisted vision, she believes she's doing what's right to have the fire nation prevail.

4 ISFJ, The Defender - Katara

Katara is the perfect defender. She is the main healer and protector in the entire series, saving a number of the characters a handful of times. She protects Aang without hesitation, both physically and mentally, while also always worrying for him and checking to make sure he is okay.

Labeled as the mom friend of the group by Toph, Katara treats everyone like they need some structure in their lives. On the same note, however, she is incredibly warm-hearted and makes everyone feel loved and appreciated. She is the most responsible out of the group (most of the time) and could be a bit of a perfectionist.

3 ESFJ, The Consul - Ty Lee

While most would assume Ty Lee's personality type is that of the entertainer (ESFP), she actually better fits the role of the consul as an ESFJ. Ty Lee is able to judge situations in her head and make quick decisions based on them. She is extremely caring and loving to her friends, a trait which many assumed to be her personality towards everyone. However, Ty Lee has shown great care for specific characters such as Zuko and Mai. When Zuko was having a hard time adjusting to regaining his honor, it was Ty Lee that pushed him to talk about his feelings. She said that she cared for him and was worried about him, more than he realized. Ty Lee has known Zuko just as long as Mai has, and their friendship throughout the series is quite under-appreciated. Mai is Ty Lee's best friend, and the moment Azula was about to attack Mai, Ty Lee decided Mai was more important, turning on Azula and supporting Mai's choice to save Zuko.

2 ISTP, The Virtuoso - Toph

Toph is a bold and practical character with lots of hands-on abilities. Toph teaches herself metal bending, creating the new form all on her own. She also has an extremely individualistic mindset when first joining Team Avatar, before developing and opening up. Also like an ISTP, Toph explores ideas and problems by trial-and-error, instead of thinking things totally through, such as when she ran away from home on a whim. It is also said that women in this category were probably often seen as tomboys or younger ages, which is Toph 100%, as she expresses in the episode "Tales Of Ba Sing Se."

1 ISFP, The Adventurer - Mai

Mai's entire reasoning for joining Azula's hunt for the avatar (and her bother) was due to the fact that she was bored with her family in Omashu. She was ready to explore new things and have an adventure, maybe even to see Zuko again. Also known as the artist, ISFP's are known to be extremely flexible, skilled, and charming. While Mai may come off as the resident brooding goth girl, she has a warm heart that draws people to her wherever she goes. She is an artist with her knives and likes to test the limits of her family's traditional expectations.
