Suki and Asami were the tough non-bending girls of their respective team Avatars. They were the definitions of beauty with brains. Combine that with their strengths in combat, and they instantly became the perfect role models for little girls all around the world.

Both proved to fans that they do not have to be or act less "feminine" in order to be perceived as strong. Both had a very unique set of skills that they brought to the table in times of trouble, and undoubtedly, both of them played a crucial part in helping the Avatar save the world during their times. But who was the more superior non-bender of the Avatar franchise?

Suki was born into a world that was at war. The Fire Nation was trying to take over the world. The citizens of Kyoshi Island knew that the war would come for them eventually. So, they started training their children at a young age.

Suki was merely eight years old when she started training. She definitely had more experience and training in combat as compared to Asami, who did not see war until she was much older.

9 ASAMI: She Was More Intelligent

Asami was not just a good fighter but also very intelligent. She got control of Future Industries when she was just a teenager after her father was imprisoned. She managed to take it to heights that even he could not reach in all his years.

She was also quick on her feet and got Team Avatar out of many a sticky situation. In addition, all of the technological advancements she made, like the hummingbird mecha suit, changed the course of history.

8 SUKI: She Was Physically Agile In Fights

Suki vs Ty Lee in Avatar

Suki was very quick and nimble on her feet. One of the best Suki moments was when she hopped, skipped, and jumped across the Boiling Rock prison grounds and captured the warden before the others could even reach them.

By the end of the show, she was almost as quick as Ty Lee who was the most agile and flexible person in the series. This was proven when they went up against each other and Suki proved to be an equal match to her.

7 ASAMI: She Was Physically Stronger

Even though she did not look like it, Asami was physically very strong. When the Earth Queen’s soldiers captured Korra and Asami, they were locked in a room where Asami’s hands were chained up to a metal bar and Korra was completely chained up from head to toe to prevent their escape.

Asami put her strength into pulling the bar and managed to unhinge it from the wall completely. This proved just how much physical strength she had, even though she was a non-bender.

6 SUKI: She Could Easily Use Several Weapons

Suki and her Kyoshi sisters were not only all trained in hand-to-hand combat but also knew how to fight with weapons. They carried a fan, a sword, and a shield. While swords and shields were a very common weapon to fight with, fans were unheard of. It was a unique style of fighting, and only the Kyoshi Warriors were shown using them to fight.

When Sokka first met her, she trained him to be a Kyoshi warrior and showed him how they used the fans as an extension of themselves. This gave her an advantage over people as most of them were not used to this style of fighting.

5 ASAMI: She Knew How to Use The Electrified Glove Well

Asami was adept at using the Electrified Glove that was manufactured by her father. This kind of glove was capable of rendering any individual unconscious, bender or non-bender, by blasting them with a soul-shaking electric shock.

This glove could even penetrate uniforms that prevented chi blocking and gave her an advantage over everyone else in combat. It was proven just how powerful she was with this gauntlet when she singlehandedly saved Tenzin from being kidnapped by Amon’s men.

4 SUKI: She Was A Kyoshi Warrior

Suki was a part of the Kyoshi Warriors, a tribe of female warriors that had been established by Avatar Kyoshi herself. She had been trained in combat ever since she was little. She was also highly trained in stealth operations.

She, along with her warrior sisters, was a force to be reckoned with. Fans fell in love with her right from the very start when she challenged Sokka’s sexist beliefs and showed him just how powerful a girl warrior could be.

3 ASAMI: She Was Adept At Riding Mecha Tanks

Mecha tanks were metal suits that were developed by Asami’s father, Hiroshi Sato. They were made out of pure platinum and thus could not be affected by metalbenders. These tanks helped non-benders match up to benders as they were strong, deadly, and equipped with several weapons.

They were also used by Amon and the Equalists in their war against benders. Asami was an expert at riding one of these. She even went up against her father and could match up to him very well. She later even developed her own prototype of the hummingbird mecha suit that could fly.

2 SUKI: She Was Better At Close Combat Style Of Fighting

Suki’s style of fighting was hand-to-hand combat and close-range weapons like sword, shield, and fan. She was lethal at close range attacks and could take on any enemy with ease.

Asami was good at close combat too, but she was nowhere near as good as the Kyoshi warrior. If they were both to go up against each other in such a style of combat, Suki would definitely come out the winner.

1 ASAMI: She Was Better At Long-Range Combat

Asami was decent at close combat fighting because her father had her trained in self-defense when she was younger. However, her real advantage lies in long-range combat.

She was at her most powerful while riding the mecha tanks and hummingbird mecha suit. These suits contained weapons that could be fired from afar. When Hiroshi tried to escape from Asami, she threw an electric zapper from her mecha tank to capture him.
