What girl hasn't dreamed of being Lois Lane and what guy wouldn't want to be Steve Trevor?  Who hasn't looked to Batman and Catwoman as #RelationshipGoals? Being the significant other of a superhero is a wish most aren't ashamed to admit. Whether it's DC or Marvel, fans have their favorite crush-worthy caped crusaders. It's hard to resist the dashing good looks, the heroic charm, the tight spandex. Beyond that, it would be an honor to be entrusted with knowing a hero's secret identity.

These significant others didn't have to dangle from tall buildings to be noticed by their superhero partners. In fact, some of them weren't even intimidated by the capes and cowls and in some cases, it was the heroes themselves that were left captivated. Together, many have presented a united front against nasty tabloid rumors and have defended each other from the prying eyes of Hollywood. Some have even begun to add to their super family, allowing for the possibility of their sidekicks to one day take on the mantle of hero!

20 SUSAN DOWNEY

The first thing Susan Downey recalls about first meeting her husband, Robert, was "how strange he was." At the time, Susan was producing the horror film Gothika, which starred the Iron Man actor alongside X-Men's Halle Berry. Robert shares his most memorable recollection of the experience was "romancing the producer." Despite rejecting his initial advances, Susan finally allowed the romance to form.

Robert proposed to Susan in 2003, going public with their relationship that same year before getting married in 2005. He credits his wife with helping him kick his dangerous habits, saying "the old saying is true -- behind every good man there's an incredible woman. I owe a huge amount, if not all of my success to Susan." He even credits her with helping him land the role of Sherlock Holmes. Director Guy Ritchie calls their romance "the greatest illustration of a symbiotic relationship I have ever seen."

19 SUNNY OZELL

Proving you're never too old to find true love, X-Men star Patrick Stewart married his long-time girlfriend Sunny Ozell in September 2013. His best friend, Ian McKellen, officiated the ceremony. The couple met while Stewart was performing Macbeth at the Brooklyn Academy of Music and began dating in 2008. Ozell is a singer-songwriter based in New York who encountered Stewart while working as a waitress at Franny's Restaurant.

Ozell vividly remembers the moment, recalling Stewart ordered a "white pie with olives" and admits "I was a little freaked out seeing Patrick Stewart in my restaurant." Stewart says, "it was an immediate attraction " when he met Ozell, who offered him desert on-the-house. 18 SOPHIA VERGARA

From the moment he snuck a peek at her behind, Joe Manganiello fell for Sophia Vergara. The two met at the 2014 White House Correspondent's Dinner and from that moment on, kicked off a whirlwind romance that ended in them getting married after only a year and a half of being together. The two flooded social media with their beautiful wedding pictures, even posting a video on Instagram of the True Blood star serenading Vergara with Guns n' Roses' Sweet Child of Mine.

17 SARAH JADE

In 2015, the WWE and Gaurdians of the Galaxy star Dave Bautista married competitive pole dancer Sarah Jade. Describing herself as a self-taught "classique style pole dancer," Jade came in second place in the 2012 USPDF Amateur Nationals. The two married in Florida and shared their wedding photos on their personal Twitter and Instagram accounts. The couple was joined by Bautista's WWE costars Chris Jericho and Titus O'Neil.

Little is known about Bautista's new bride besides what can be found in her website biography. The dancer reveals she has a "love for high heels and body rolls" and was the winner of Miss Pole Dance America in 2016. In December 2011, she opened her own dance studio, Buttercup Pole Dance, where she offers workshops and hosts a training camp.

16 ADAM SHULMAN

After meeting through mutual friends, Adam Shulman and Anne Hathaway started dating in late 2008. Shulman then accompanied The Dark Knight Rises star to the opening gala of the Palm Springs Film Festival where Hathaway was honored with the Desert Palm Achievement Award. In 2011, he proposed with a custom-made Kwiat engagement ring he helped design.

It was clear the two were smitten for each other from the start. Hathaway gushed about her fiancee at the time, telling Marie Claire UK, "I am very much in love with him," teasing that he "ruined my plan" of spending time alone resulting in her falling "in love like a fool." 15 COLIN JOST

It's confirmed! Avengers actress Scarlett Johansson and SNL star Colin Jost are officially a couple. Though the two have been dating for six months, they have managed to keep their relationship from the public until making their debut at the American Museum of Natural History Gala on November 30. Rumors about the relationship first appeared when the two were spotted making out during the SNL season finale party.

Jost has been very tight-lipped about his new girlfriend but revealed to US Weekly, "she's wonderful... I'm very happy. I feel very lucky." The two met when ScarJo first hosted SNL, which coincidentally was during the first year Jost was working as a writer for the show. While the two have taken great care in taking things slow, friends of the couple say, "They are very much in love. It's serious!" revealing they have already met each other's families.

14 SOPHIE HUNTER

Fans of the BBC drama recognize Benedict Cumberbatch as Sherlock Holmes while Marvel fans know him as Doctor Strange. In February of 2015, he wed Sophie Hunter, an avant-garde theater and opera director and playwright. Hunter co-founded the Lacuna Theatre Company and Boileroom, which won the 2007 Samuel Theatre Trust Award. Her productions have made their way across Europe, the Middle East and North America.

After six years together, the couple didn't make their first public appearance until June 2014. Hunter suffered backlash from die-hard Cumberbatch fans who believed she was "using [him] to turn herself into a celebrity." Cumberbatch was quick to defend his new bride at the time, stating "I think really it's to do with the idea that the 'Internet's boyfriend' can't actually belong to anyone else but the Internet." The two remain strong, welcoming their second son Hal Auden this past March.

13  LAUREN MILLER

Seth Rogen is known for his raunchy comedic films such as Superbad, Pineapple Express and Sausage Party. In 2011, Rogen starred in The Green Hornet as the titular crimefighting vigilante. Along his career path, Rogen met Lauren Miller, who played supporting roles in a number of his films. The two became engaged in 2010 and married in October 2011.

Both an actress and screenwriter, Miller has created and starred in a number of short films. Alongside her husband, the couple created the organization Hilarity for Charity which supports the Alzheimer's Association. 12 ALICIA VIKANDER

The attraction between X-Men villain Michael Fassbender and Tomb Raider star Alicia Vikander on the set of the 2014 film The Light Between Oceans was undeniable. The couple has been notoriously private regarding their relationship, enjoying a secret engagement and wedding, but have revealed memorable moments during their romance.

Vikander explained while shooting the film, the two were forced to share close quarters, which helped Fassbender open up more when it came to his acting. Before their recent engagement, Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner made their first appearance as a couple during a pre-MTV Europe Music Awards Kings of Leon concert last November. The DNCE frontman and X-Men: Apocalypse star were seen getting cozy and kissing, and later spent Halloween and Thanksgiving together.
