Hajime Isayama's hit action/horror anime Attack on Titan invites us to a gaslamp fantasy world where humanity's last great city, protected by three walls, is under siege against hordes of towering humanoids. These Titans pound away at humanity's defenses as Eren Jeager and his friends answer the call to arms and take down the Titans for good.

The plot quickly thickens from there, and major characters such as Eren, Levi, Reiner, and Historia soon take center stage. Levi Ackerman, in particular, is a fan favorite because of his unshakable cool-guy attitude, his devastating combat skills, sharp tactical acumen, and of course, his hilarious fondness for absolute cleanliness and hygiene. So, here are ten cosplayers who brought Levi to life to celebrate this standout character!

10 No blind spots

Let's begin the cosplay gallery with a group photo. After all, both Levi and Hange are essential leaders among the Scouts, with the former being a field commander and the latter a vital researcher into the ways of the Titans. Together, they can take down any Titan menace.

Many Attack on Titan cosplayers choose a forest setting, which is authentic to the series since the ODM gear works best that way. Both Levi and Hange are looking good, from their battle-ready postures and fancy boots to their sword at the ready. It makes sense that Levi's sword is more aggressively posed, given what a berserker he can be in combat.

9 Romanticized Levi

This cosplay could easily double as a fine painting! You know, like the kind you find in an aristocrat's mansion, with richly realized colors and a dark red background? Maybe Levi is posing for a recruitment poster: "Join me, and slay Titans!"

The cosplayer has a high-quality jacket and an authentic-looking Scouts cape that is draped just right over his shoulder for dramatic flair, not to mention his sword held at the ready. Real battle is more grisly and chaotic than this, but for now, Levi's looking like a model soldier!

8 Start talking!

Whoa, that's quite the camera angle! When a cosplayer has the character's equipment or weapons in hand, they can strike all kinds of poses, and they can also take camera shots that look like manga panels. Take this shot, for example.

There's the forest setting again, a nice sunny afternoon... until an impatient Levi holds a sword to your throat to demand some answers! We can hardly imagine a more in-character cosplay pose than this one for Levi Ackerman.

7 Say Goodbye to the old world

It turns out that Levi and Mikasa are family, and they share the Ackerman name. But they're not too sentimental about it. Both of them are tough and think only of the future, and of victory.

Here, the cosplayers show both characters' dark outfits from the later arcs of the manga, and Mikasa's red scarf and Levi's aloof pose are quite accurate to both characters. And that gothic looking building hints at the old world order that has since crumbled to dust, now that the war with the Marley Empire is heating up!

6 Another scout victory

Despite his cold attitude, Levi is a team player and a commander, so his cosplayers often appear with another major character by their side. We get that here too, where a Levi cosplayer is joined by the one and only Eren Jaeger.

These young men didn't like each other very much at first, but they're allies during the battle against Annie's human-Titan squad. In this rustic autumn shot, the both of them have taken a seat to catch their breath after a hard-won victory. We can tell, since Levi is holding the Scouts flag tall and proud!

5 We're not dead yet!

Oops... maybe we were too late to kick back and relax after a Scout victory! Once again, Levi and Eren find themselves fighting side by side in a forest, but this time, things did not go their way. No even close.

The muted color palette works well for the somber and grim tone of this shot, where Eren is critically wounded and only Levi can get him back home to safety. Now we're wondering what, exactly, Levi is looking at...? Tune in next time and see!

4 Business Levi

Part of the fun of anime cosplay is that you can choose between using the character's original clothes and setting to recreate the anime... or come up with something original! This is a great chance to come up with a modernized version of any character and picture them in our own clothing style or setting.

This cosplayer imagined what appears to be a near-future Levi businessman, probably a private eye who scored his morning coffee before moving on to a tough case that only he can crack. Seriously, the wig and makeup are scarily accurate to the character, and those clothes look quite good on him. We need a modern-Levispinoff, ASAP!

3 Spray and pray

When you're in the Scouts with Levi Ackerman breathing down your neck, the term "spray and pray" takes on a whole new meaning! If you're not taking the fight to the Titans, you're taking the fight to dirt and dust instead, and you'd better hope that your housekeeping skills are on par with Levi's standards.

This Levi, at left, seems a little skeptical that poor Armin can truly get those windows clean, but we've got our fingers crossed. Honestly, just one speck of dust won't kill you, Levi...

2 Happily ever after (assuming the titans are dead)

Now this is the stuff of fanfiction! We mean that in a good way, by the way. Levi and Hange are good friends and comrades, and these cosplayers are sure that once the Titan threat is over, these two will mark the occasion in a big way.

That sunset sky is simply gorgeous, and it sets the tone just right. This romantic Levi is happy to share his joy with Hange, but if you think about it, those orange-red hues hint at all the blood that's beenshed to get this far...

1 Storm the castle

Levi and Eren get on each other's nerves, but we'll be darned if they don't make for a good team. The last cosplay for our list shows both warriors preparing to charge right into a castle, swords drawn, battle prayers ready.

Who's the enemy? Perhaps they got a lead on Annie or Bertholt, or they're going to corner the invading Marleyans and prove that Paradise Island is not to be trifled with! Both cosplayers have excellent costumes for the occasion, not to mention manga-worthy poses and some cool autumn leaf effects. Seriously, Attack on Titan meshes so well with autumn for some reason.
