The series has revolved around the Survey Corps group since it first began and fans have loved them over the years. However, most still don't know everything about the group's history and may have forgotten some of their most dangerous adventures. These are ten things that they should know about them going into season 4.

10 There Are Three Branches Of Paradis' Military

Survey Corps

There are three branches of Paradis' military. The Garrison Regiment protects the people inside the walls while the Military Police Brigade works for the royal family.

Due to only the top ten members of each class being accepted into the Military Police Brigade, most have joined the Garrison Regiment. However, once some of the most fearless soldiers wanted to explore the outside world, the Survey Corps was created to defeat the titans and reclaim land for humanity.

There are many spin-offs in the manga, with one of the most underrated being Attack On Titan: Before The Fall. As it is a prequel set 70 years before Eren joined the military, the story centers around a different group of soldiers. Readers learned a lot about the Survey Corps' early days. Back then, there were two important soldiers that were from the same family.

Jorge Pikale was a captain of the Survey Corps who became an instructor. His son, Carlo, became the commander of the Survey Corps. The Pikales were two of the most important yet unknown characters in the franchise as they both played an important role in the Survey Corps' history.

8 Keith Was A Commander Of The Survey Corps Before Some Characters Became Soldiers

Keith was another commander of the Survey Corps before most of the main characters became soldiers. He was very close to Eren's parents. After finding Grisha outside of the walls, he brought him to Shiganshina and helped him become a doctor there.

Grisha admired Keith and made him believe that he was special. However, as the civilians thought that Erwin would make a better leader, Keith stepped down and became an instructor. He trained Eren and the rest of the 104th Cadet Corps, turning them into the great soldiers they became.

7 Levi Is Conidered Humanity's Strongest Soldier

Attack on Titan Levi Comrades Titan

Levi is the strongest person in all of Paradis. Like the Pikales, he had his own story, Attack On Titan: No Regrets. Living in the Underground as a criminal, Erwin had him and his friends join the Survey Corps if they didn't want to receive punishment. Though Levi planned on killing Erwin at first, he turned his hatred over to the titans after they killed his friends.

He has avenged them and everyone else that he lost since by killing every predator of humanity that he can. He became a captain and earned his own squad, which a lot of the main characters from the 104th Cadet Corps ended up joining.

Eren, Armin, and Mikasa met most of their comrades once their training began. In the years before they fought the titans, the 104th Cadet Corpsmembers became very close. Once they graduated, they were forced to fight immediately as the titans attacked them.

It was in this battle that the world learned about Eren's titan powers, giving everyone in Paradis the hope they never believed they'd have. Characters such as Jean and Connie decided to join the Survey Corps after this battle, even though they were determined to join the Military Police Brigade for a long time. Most of them helped change the entire world, making this class the greatest Paradis ever had.

5 Eren And Mikasa Fought Annie But Did Not Prevail In Killing Her

Female Titan vs Mikasa

The only 104th Cadet Corps soldier that joined the Military Police Brigade was Annie. However, she wouldn't be there for long as the Survey Corps discovered that she was actually their enemy, the Female Titan. She killed many soldiers in the Survey Corps, including the members of Levi Squad.

Eren and Mikasa fought her and almost won. However, before they could defeat the Female Titan, Annie used her hardening abilities to trap herself in an unbreakable crystal. But the Survey Corps wouldn't have to wait long to find those that were working with her.

4 There Were Many Instencies Of Betrayal Within The Survey Corps

The Female Titan was also working with the Armored Titan and the Colossal Titan. Eren and his friends were shocked to discover that more of their comrades were actually their enemies.

Due to the split mindset he gained by pretending to be a soldier, Reiner told them who he and Bertholdt really were and hoped that their friends would understand. Instead, they fought against each other many times. They became the main antagonists of the second and third seasons.

3 Historia Is Also The Princess Of Paradis Despite Being A Part Of The Survey Corps

After learning that Colossal Titans were inside the walls protecting them, the Survey Corps started searching for Paradis'se trusts. This resulted in a war between them and the Military Police Brigade.

One of their soldiers, Historia, turned out to be the princess of Paradis. Deciding to help her friends and defeat her father, she became the new queen, despite not knowing that royalty was in her blood for the majority of her life. She brought peace to her country and ended the military's civil war.

2 Hange Was Picked As A Commander For When Erwin Eventually Dies

As a result of Paradis' civil war, the Survey Corps learned how to save someone's life by turning them into a titan. However, they were only able to use it once. In a battle against Reiner, Bertholdt, and some of the other Warriors, Armin and Erwin were nearly killed.

The remaining soldiers fought over who should become a titan, with Levi making the final decision. He chose to save Armin and Hange became Erwin's replacement as their commander, which Erwin said he wanted before he passed.

1 They Wish To Reach The Ocean

Armin, Mikasa, and Eren see the ocean in Attack on Titan.

Before they even joined the military, Armin and Eren hoped to travel around the world and find the ocean. At the end of the third season, they finally reached that goal.

Learning from Grisha that Paradis' enemies were actually the Marleyans rather than the titans, the Survey Corps travelled as far as they could and knew that their enemies were across the body of water they weren't sure existed. Fans are excited to see what happens to the Survey Corps as they battle against Marley's Warriors again in the fourth season.
