With the explosive trailer dropping recently too, many are ready to see what the end of this anime has in store, while others are a little more cautious for their own reasons. In fact, there's an equal amount of reasons for fans to be excited and nervous for Attack on Titan's final season.

10 NERVOUS: SOME MAY NOT BE READY FOR IT TO END

The end can be scary for some, especially when it's been as great a ride as this one. Though Attack on Titan has had its ups and downs, it's undeniable that it left fans on the edge of their seats from day one and kept them coming back for more.

That kind of impression on its viewers is truly an accomplishment, but for fans who are enjoying the anime to the fullest, they might not be ready to see it reach its conclusion. Finishing something can be hard and leave some feeling empty afterward, and that might be doubly so for an anime as popular as Attack on Titan.

9 EXCITED: THE TRAILER LOOKS INCREDIBLE

With how anime left things at the end of the last season, it was clear that the story was getting ready to reach its climax, though some didn't have an idea of how. That would change when the trailer for season four revealed itself, depicting a massive battle with soldiers and titans.

This was a great first impression and succeeded at hyping up the fans to see this battle take place and all the returning fan-favorite characters too. If the trailer's to be believed, Attack on Titan is ready to go out with a bang.

8 NERVOUS: GREY MORALITY?

By the look of it, season four's poster bears a resemblance to season one's. In it, we see what seems to be Reiner, in the ruins of a town in Marley, as Eren in his titan form gets ready to attack, just as the Colossal Titan did way back. With the shoe appearing to be on the other foot for Marley this time, the question becomes, is the morality of what the heroes fans have followed really black and white, or is it more grey?

Granted, the actions of Marley from the start of this anime have been overwhelmingly horrible, though two wrongs don't make a right either. The water is already murky in this case, but regardless, the viewers might just see how far the people of Paradis Island are willing to go for revenge.

7 EXCITED: COLOSSAL TITAN ARMIN

At the end of season three, Armin was saved from death's door and given the powers of the Colossal Titan too. Though he never transforms, leading many to wonder how different his titan form will look from Bertholdt's.

The prospect of a powerful titan like the Colossal Titan being on the Survey Corps' side is exciting in its own right, and given that Armin's in the driver's seat, viewers can expect he'll use those powers well. The trailer also gives a very brief glimpse of what appears to be the Colossal Titan, so fans can expect to see Armin in action as a titan very soon.

6 NERVOUS: NEW ANIMATION STUDIO

Wit Studio worked on the first three seasons of Attack on Titan, and to say they did an alright job adapting the manga into anime form would be an understatement. The anime put the series on the map, thanks to the incredible animation that was on display from Wit Studio. Sadly this wouldn't last since, as the trailer revealed, this season's production moved over to MAPPA.

While it is a strong showing, a new studio can make fans nervous that the quality of animation could go down rather than up. It doesn't appear that way for Attack on Titan, however, there's always more to an anime than what's seen in its trailers.

5 EXCITED: SECRETS WILL BE REVEALED

There were many reveals in season three of Attack on Titan, some that even changed everything the viewer thought they knew about the anime's world. It sounds like it would be nearly impossible to top it after that, but there are still some questions that need to be answered, and since this coming season is going to be the last, those loose ends may just get tied up.

Good finales often have some surprise reveals, given all the twists and turns this anime has (like Eren being a titan back in season one, Reiner and Bertholdt's true identity, and the history of Eldia and Marley) there's a good chance Attack on Titan has a few more up its sleeves.

4 NERVOUS: WHICH CHARACTERS ARE GONNA DIE?

Wars always have casualties. When it comes to an anime like Attack on Titan where death is a pretty prevalent force throughout it, plenty of characters have died, and an explosive finale is coming up, the likelihood that there'll be even more deaths is a certainty. The only thing in question is who.

With war on the horizon, it's nerve-wracking to think about, but there's a good chance that popular characters that have made it this far might not be so lucky this time around. For fans of those characters, that's terrifying.

3 EXCITED: A BIG WAR IS COMING

The Jaw Titan in AoT

The war between the people of Paradis Island and Marley that's depicted in the trailer looks undeniably epic. It's clear that in the final season, viewers will watch a battle the likes of which fans have never seen before, where even titans are used as weapons.

By the looks of things, this war will have a lot of death and destruction, along with titan on titan battles too, hyping up a visual spectacle to come. It looks like the makings of everything fans are hoping for in a big climactic finish for this anime.

2 NERVOUS: HOW IT'S GOING TO END

Attack on Titan has had a lot of build-up to get to where it is now, and with build-up comes expectations. The ending of any show can be intimidating and the feeling that the finale won't be as good as what was hoped for can become a legitimate fear.

Many shows, even anime, have fallen into the pitfalls of having a solid story from the beginning all the way up to a certain point but failing to stick the landing with its ending. With the manga at this time not being finished just yet either, it's hard to even expect just how this season will end. To see a strong series like Attack on Titan not reach a satisfying conclusion would be heartbreaking at the very least.

1 EXCITED: HOW IT'S GOING TO END

Attack Of Titan Arc Reiner vs Eren

While the end of any long-running show can be scary to some, for others, they couldn't be more excited to see just how it all ends. After all the trials and tribulations, death and despair, victories, and secrets revealed, some fans are ready to see Eren and the rest of the Survey Corps' story come to a close.

The season promises big action as always, so what's for certain is that Attack on Titan was never going to just go out quietly. While the manga not having a confirmed final chapter just yet is worrying, it doesn't mean the anime won't end on a satisfying note. Sometimes the journey is better than the destination, but the destination can be just as good as the ride there too.
