The premiere of Attack on Titan: The Final Season - Part 2 on Crunchyroll promptly crashed the streaming service due to an overwhelming amount of traffic.Briefly, when users tried to access Attack on Titan on Crunchyroll, they were met with an error page and the message, "We are sorry. A team of shinobi is working to bring your anime back. Thank you for your patience." This error caused many fans of the anime to share their frustrations on Twitter, posting memes, gifs and images from the anime.
While service has been restored on Crunchyroll, the first episode of Attack on Titan: The Final Season - Part 2, "Judgment," is no longer available on the streaming service at the time of writing.
Attack on Titan: The Final Season - Part 2 is set to be action-packed and intense as the age-old tensions between the Marleyans and Eldians threaten to bring about the war of all wars. The hype for the epic conclusion has been high in the buildup to Part 2's premiere, in part due to the wealth of promotional material that has been released. The new season's main poster offers an intense look at protagonist Eren Jaeger as glass shards featuring key moments from the series swirl around him.
There have also been several trailers looking back at the journeys of Eren and his friends Mikasa Ackerman and Armin Arlert, detailing their adventures together and the events that threatened to turn the childhood friends against each other. The anime's new opening and ending themes were released online ahead of the premiere as well.
Attack on Titan: The Final Season - Part 2 isn't the only thing fans of the series have to look forward to. Alongside a myriad of fanmade content, there is also the returning Attack on Titan attraction for Universal Cool Japan 2022; Attack on Titan XR Ride is a virtual rollercoaster that allows users to experience the intensity and brutality of a Titan attack for themselves.
The original manga series by Hajime Isayama ran from September 2009 to April 2021, producing 34 volumes worth of content. The first season of the Attack on Titan anime by Wit Studio (Ranking of Kings) premiered in April 2013, and the fourth and final season was announced in July 2019. In May 2020, it was confirmed that MAPPA, the studio behind Jujutsu Kaisen and Banana Fish, would be taking over the production of the show. Attack on Titan: The Final Season - Part 1 initially aired between December 2020 and March 2021 with 16 episodes.
