The Attack On Titan universe is remembered for its many legendary battles. Whether it's ordinary heroes fighting against insurmountable odds or the titan shifters fighting each other, the series' hair-raising and consequential encounters are seldom predictable or forgotten.

However, there has been an ample number of fights that were completely one-sided. It was pretty obvious as to who would win immediately after the melee started, and the lack of suspense was almost shocking for a series like this. By ranking the anime's most brutal beatdowns, we can better appropriate the series' power dynamics and how things have changed since the beginning of Eren's journey.

10 The Warriors Completely Destroyed Fort Slava

The battle of Fort Slava illustrated the usefulness of titan shifters to Marley. By combining their strength, Porco, Reiner, and Zeke destroyed the enemy fortress, saving the lives of many Eldian conscripts in the process.

While there were virtually no casualties on Marley's end, the Warriors took a slight beating. Reiner sustained noticeable injuries by protecting Zeke from an enemy naval armada, indicating that as modern technology advanced, the titans were slowly becoming irrelevant. Consequently, the Eldians' future outside the walls was tenuous at best.

9 Despite Becoming A Monster, Rod Reiss Failed Badly Against The Scouts

Rod Reiss Titan Crawling Toward the Wall

After drinking titan serum, Rod Reiss became a hulking monstrosity and gradually lurched toward the walls. In a panicked daze, the Scout and Garrison regiments conspired together in order to stop him.

They doused themselves in water to minimize the effects of the giants' heat and had Eren throw a cluster of explosive kegs into its mouth. Surprisingly, the plan was so effective that there were no noticeable casualties. In fact, their heroics set the stage for Historia to become queen of Paradis.

8 Levi Ripped Zeke To Shreds During Their Forest Battle

Beast Titan Season 4

After drugging his Eldian captors with spinal fluid, Zeke was ready to put his plan in motion. He took off running from Levi and turned his comrades into pure titans with a menacing scream.

Although Levi was severely outnumbered, he still managed to cut down his former friends and catch up with the Beast Titan. Zeke may have had experience against Levi in two separate encounters by that point, but his projectiles still failed to connect against the captain. After being critically injured with thunder spears, he was ripped from his titan body.

7 Grisha Destroyed Frieda Despite Her Superior Titan

At Eren's urging, Grisha Yeager infiltrated the royal family's bunker and demanded they stop the attack on Shiganshina. Bound by the will of Karl Fritz, the Founding Titan's current user, Frieda Reiss, refused.

Heartbroken but with no other choice, Grisha attacked the monarchy. Although Frieda's abilities were significantly stronger than his own, he capitalized on her lack of experience both as a fighter and as a titan shifter in order to devour her nape and steal her power. In the end, Rod was the only survivor of the carnage and would later attempt to reclaim what was stolen from him.

6 Bertholdt Destroyed Trost, But Not As Badly As Shiganshina

Eren fighting the Colossal Titan Attack on Titan

When Bertholdt's Colossal reappeared several years after the Shiganshina incident, Eren and his friends were better equipped to face him. Eren was even almost able to make it to the monster's neck before the Marleyan reverted to his human form.

Although the heroes were able to cut down the subsequent pure titan invasion, they nonetheless took heavy casualties. Dozens of Cadet Corps members would never live to see their next mission, and Eren had nothing to show for the battle's conclusion aside from plugging the hole that the Colossal made.

5 Eren Was Defeated By Annie In Their Forest Encounter

After Levi's squad was taken out while protecting Eren, Eren felt bound by duty to avenge them. Despite the captain's warnings, he faced Annie Leonhart by himself and got beaten severely for his overconfidence.

Not only did Annie possess significantly more skill as a trained warrior, but her hardening also provided a perfect defensive and offensive weapon simultaneously. In the end, she captured Eren and would have escaped with him if not for the intervention of Levi and Mikasa.

4 Eren Beat Up Armin During The Restaurant Incident

After Eren stated that he never actually loved Mikasa, Armin was understandably upset. Despite the surrounding Yeagerists and Eren's ability to use the Attack Titan at a moment's notice, Armin lashed out at him, initiating one of the series' few fist fights.

However, it didn't go nearly as well as Armin had hoped. Eren beat him brutally and without mercy, with his friend barely being able to retaliate with a single punch. It was a harrowing illustration of how far Eren had fallen since the days of their youth.

3 Levi Ripped Zeke Apart During Their First Encounter

Levi's first fight with Zeke was as gory as it was short. Seconds after making contact with the Beast Titan, the captain blinded him, cut through his fingers, and tore his back to shreds.

Although Levi performed much better against Zeke in Paradis' fields than he did in the forest, his victory still came at a grave cost. Without Commander Erwin's heroic final charge, Levi never would have been able to close the distance before being crushed with boulder fragments.

2 The Warriors Unleashed A Nightmare On Shiganshina

Colossal Titan Attack on Titan

When the Colossal Titan breached Shiganshina, no one was prepared for him. Since Paradis had enjoyed a hundred years of uninterrupted peace, they were extremely unprepared for the giant's attack along with the hundreds of pure titans that he ushered forth.

Although the Garrison regiment mounted a commendable attempt to save the city with cannons, they failed to stop Reiner completely. His charge against the gate exacerbated Paradis' problems even further and caused massive famine due to the influx of refugees. It was the villains' most decisive victory and the impetus of Eren's future actions.

1 Eren Defeated Reiner In Seconds At Liberio

Reiner was completely humiliated by Eren at the battle for Liberio. He was reluctantly roused into fighting with the encouragement of warrior candidates, and it made a negative impact on his performance.

Eren managed to defeat him in seconds after they finally clashed, illustrating how far he had come since their first battle near the walls. Luckily for Reiner, it still cost Eren the last of his strength and prevented him from consuming Porco or causing any further damage to Marley. Nonetheless, Reiner's loss was especially appalling since his titan was supposed to be lauded for its durable qualities.
