Bertholdt was the Colossal Titan of the Attack On Titan universe and one of the series' strongest characters. At an unprecedented sixty meters tall, he was strong enough to crush the walls of Paradis and send Eren flying across Shiganshina with a single brutal kick.

As powerful as he is in his own anime, his success is not guaranteed against the roster of My Hero Academia. By identifying how he would fare against the series' Heroes and Villains, we can better understand the limitations behind his unparalleled strength and shifting abilities.

10 Could Beat: Mt. Lady Is Smaller & Weaker Than Bertholdt Even In Her Enhanced State

Mt Lady running through the city

Mt. Lady's Quirk allows her to grow to astounding heights. When balanced with her formidable martial arts skills, she poses a threat similar to Annie Leonhart (albeit without a hardening ability).

Still, the Pro Hero's maximum height looms just above a typical Japanese building. Consequently, she pales in comparison to the Colossal's sixty-meter frame and would be defeated with a single punt. The fight would transpire roughly like Bertholdt's battle against Eren Yeager and with identical results.

9 Would Lose To: All Might Has The Strength & Speed To Power Through Bertholdt's Steam

All Might In His Prime In My Hero Academia

All Might is one of the few characters who could power through the Colossal's boiling steam in order to crush his head. Strong enough to change the weather with a single steady punch and fast enough to land over three hundred hits in under a minute, the Symbol of Peace's feats overshadow those of his Titan opponent.

Although Bertholdt may still be physically brawnier, he couldn't hope to seize All Might before the Hero had a chance to race up his arm and knock his head off.

8 Could Beat: Bertholdt's Transformation Alone Is A Natural Repellant To Tokoyami's Dark Shadow

Tokoyami in the air with his shadow

Tokoyami's Dark Shadow provides him with enough range to confront the Colossal Titan safely. In its enhanced state, it was strong enough to defeat Moonfish with a single blow, and it can even take flight.

However, it maintains a weakness to light. The Colossal's explosive transformation produces a burst of light that would severely weaken Dark Shadow's power, even if they fought at night. And if Tokoyami somehow managed to still fly around with Dark Shadow, Bertholdt's steam could blow them away, making them unable to land any attacks.

7 Would Lose To: Kurogiri Could Pass Through A Warp Gate Until Bertholdt's Colossal Is Exhausted

Kurogiri's warp gate in MHA

An unfortunate reality about the Colossal Titan is that it has the worst stamina management of the nine Shifters. This was why Bertholdt maintained his enhanced form for the least amount of time during the attacks on Shiganshina and was not able to repel the Scouts during Reiner's attempted escape.

If Kurogiri enters a warp gate at the beginning of the fight with Bertholdt, all he would need to do is observe from a distance as the Marleyan lumbers about aimlessly. Once he is forced to revert to his human form, the villain would seize his opportunity to strike his opponent down.

6 Could Beat: Hawks Lacks The Firepower To Take Bertholdt Down

Although Hawks' feathers provide hundreds of tiny and effective weapons, none of them would be particularly deadly against the Colossal. This is for two reasons: not only does Bertholdt's enhanced body lack the necessity of vital organs like a heart or intestines, his steam could also rebuke the Hero's attacks well in advance.

As a result, Bertholdt is in a much better position to crush Hawks than vice versa, especially if his opponent is forced to fight in a crowded city with potential civilian casualties.

5 Would Lose To: Overhaul Can Kill Bertholdt With One Touch

Overhaul's Quirk would allow him to disrupt the ground beneath Bertholdt's feet, skewering the Colossal with spikes and briefly immobilizing him. This would provide the window that the Yakuza boss needs to make physical contact with his towering adversary and kill him instantly.

Even if the aforementioned strategy didn't work, he could also use his Quirk-negating bullets to revert Bertholdt back into a human or consume two of his henchmen in order to gain flight and boost his mobility.

4 Could Beat: Cementoss' Walls Wouldn't Even Slow Bertholdt Down

Cementoss manipulates cement with his Quirk in My Hero Academia

Cementoss could create dozens of high walls simultaneously through the usage of his quirk. While they may have been capable of stopping the fight between Todoroki and Bakugo, none of them were even remotely tall enough to resemble the fifty meter borders of Paradis.

Bertholdt could simply slog through whatever obstructions that the rock-headed Hero threw at him before smashing him into gravel with a decisive stomp.

3 Would Lose To: Seiji's Meatballs Don't Have A Size Limit For What They Can Change

Seiji is one of the best students to contend with Bertholdt's staggering strength and impressive reach. His quirk allows him to attack lethally and from a distance, using his "Meatball" appendages to transform the Colossal's body into a gigantic boulder of flesh.

Since the Hero's power has never demonstrated a size limit, Bertholdt would fail to realize the threat it posed until it was already too late. Moreover, the competence Seiji displayed in the Hero Licensing Exam suggests that he would be smart enough not to underestimate his towering opponent.

2 Could Beat: Muscular Is Significantly Outmatched In Strength By The Colossal

Muscular attacks in My Hero Academia

Muscular was powerful enough to create small craters and rockslides with the force of his fists alone. Having been responsible for the murders of many Pro Heroes, his experience also overshadows most of the members in the League's Vanguard.

However, the Colossal's initial detonation alone would be sufficient to reduce the man to ash, as it was powerful enough to obliterate much of Shiganshina and raze Marley's entire port. Additionally, Bertholdt defeated Eren in a single kick, who himself was roughly Muscular's physical equivalent.

1 Would Lose To: Endeavor Is An Extremely Fast Flier With High Stamina & Lethal Firepower

Endeavor surrounded by fire in My Hero Academia.

Endeavor is a perfect counter to Bertholdt in every conceivable metric. Not only does his affinity for flight suggest that he could dodge the Villain's attacks, he was also resilient enough to survive multiple lacerations and impalements by High-End during their climactic encounter in the city.

Additionally, his concentrated flames had tremendous range and were capable of disintegrating targets on a molecular level. It follows that even if Bertholdt managed to block his attacks, his fingers - and head - would nonetheless be severed from his body.
