Levi Ackerman has been one of the most beloved characters of Attack on Titan since he was first introduced. One of the reasons for this is how much fans enjoy watching him fight against other characters. He is one of the most powerful characters in the manga, considered to be "humanity's strongest soldier" by the Eldians in Paradis.

While he can kill normal titans quite easily, the titan shifters, Military Police, and more have proven to be great threats to Levi. He had a few enemies in the manga and some stood out more than others.

10 Pieck Stopped Levi From Defeating The Beast Titan

Pieck was the inheritor of the Cart Titan. They first encountered each other in Shiganshina. When Levi was about to kill Zeke, Pieck came to his rescue, making it so all of the soldiers that sacrificed their lives, hoping that Levi would be able to defeat the Beast Titan, died in vain.

Levi and Pieck would continue to be enemies for a few years as the Survey Corps and Warrior Unit attacked each other. However, once the Rumbling began, they put their differences aside and teamed up to save the world.

9 Reiner Was One Of The Survey Corps' Biggest Threats

Reiner Braun turning into the Armored Titan

From the beginning of the series, the Armored Titan was one of the Survey Corps' greatest enemies. Little did any of the soldiers know that one of their comrades was actually the inheritor of the Armored Titan, Reiner.

When Reiner revealed who he really was, his friends felt betrayed by him, many of which were members of Levi's squad. They would fight against him many times until, like Pieck, he joined forces with them to stop Eren and the Rumbling.

8 Porco Fought Against Levi In Marley

When Porco was a child, he expected that he would inherit one of the Nine Titans, only to be shocked when all of his comrades had become titan shifters while he didn't. Years later, he would become the Jaw Titan's inheritor, and he wanted to prove that he deserved it all along.

Because of this, when the Survey Corps invaded Marley, he did everything that he could to defeat them. However, when he encountered Levi, he was shocked to discover how strong he was and that the Survey Corps members weren't afraid of him. Unfortunately, he died shortly after, not being as much of a threat to Paradis as his comrades were.

7 Bertholdt Killed Many Eldians In Paradis, Including Soldiers In The Survey Corps

Like Reiner, Bertholdt was one of the biggest threats the Survey Corps faced at the beginning of the manga. As the Colossal Titan, he invaded both Shiganshina and Trost before his identity was revealed. When the Survey Corps fought the Warrior Unit at Shiganshina, Bertholdt was able to kill a lot of Levi's comrades.

However, Eren and Armin managed to defeat him, with Armin sacrificing his life in the process. Levi chose to use the titan serum that he had to save Armin's life and turn him into the next Colossal Titan.

6 Rod Reiss Kept Many Truths Hidden From Paradis

Rod Reiss was the king of Paradis and, like his ancestors, kept the truth of the world away from the Eldians he ruled over. One of the worst ways that he managed to do this was by killing people inside of the walls that tried to figure out what the outside world was like.

Because of this, he became a huge threat to the Survey Corps, especially after he drank titan serum and became an abnormal titan that attacked his own nation.

5 Floch Became A Yeagerist

Towards the end of the manga, the Yeagerists overthrew Paradis' military, with Floch having a big role in doing so. He did anything that he felt was necessary to stop the Survey Corps once they chose to join the Warrior Unit to end the Rumbling.

He even followed them to the ship they wanted to fly on and shot it, stalling them from catching up to Eren. He was killed seconds later, but as a result, Hange had to sacrifice their life to give the others the time they needed. Levi lost one of his closest friends because of Floch.

4 Annie Killed Most Of The Members In Levi's Squad

The first titan shifter that the Survey Corps fought against was Annie. In their battle with her, she tried to capture Eren, who had joined Levi's squad. The other members of it, Eld, Gunther, Petra, and Oluo, tried to protect Eren and were killed in the process.

Levi cared a lot about them and was especially devastated when he found out that Petra wanted to marry him. However, Levi and Annie would eventually team up to defeat Eren and end the Rumbling.

3 Kenny Abandoned Levi And Joined The Military Police

When Levi was a child, his mother died. Kenny found him shortly after and taught him everything that he could so that Levi would be able to survive in the Underground. However, after doing so, Kenny left him and became the leader of the Anti-Personnel Control Squad, a part of the Military Police that fought the Survey Corps.

Levi and Kenny would fight against each other multiple times throughout the anime before Kenny died, revealing that he was Levi's uncle, and giving him the titan serum that would eventually save Armin's life.

2 Eren Betrayed The Survey Corps

After being able to see into the future and knowing all of the terrible things he'd need to do in order to protect his loved ones, Eren betrayed the Survey Corps. He practically forced them to invade Marley, where multiple soldiers, including Sasha, died. He then led the Yeagerists as they overthrew Paradis' military and acted like he hated his friends.

Eventually, the time came for him to begin the Rumbling, becoming the Survey Corps' greatest enemy. Levi considered Eren to be a monster since they had met and he would finally have to fight against the boy he welcomed into the Survey Corps.

1 Zeke Fought Levi Many Times Throughout The Series

Zeke

Humanity's strongest soldier and the inheritor of the Beast Titan became each other's greatest enemy when they fought against each other in Shiganshina. Zeke had killed many members of the Survey Corps, including Erwin, and Levi failed to avenge them. A few years after Zeke retreated to Marley, Levi would fight him a couple more times, causing him to become permanently injured.

During the Rumbling, Levi had hoped that instead of Eren, he and his comrades could save the world by killing Zeke. Though that wasn't the case, Levi ended up decapitating the Beast Titan, finally completing his mission.
