Attack on Titan has a lot of interesting characters, with Historia Reiss being one of them. She was originally introduced as Krista Lenz, a soldier in the 104th Cadet Corps who always showed kindness to her comrades. After joining the Survey Corps, she found out that she was actually the daughter of Paradis' king, Rod Reiss.

From her comrades in the Survey Corps to those who have helped her become such a great leader, there are many characters Historia would consider her friends.

10 Mikasa & Historia Have Similar Histories

Mikasa Ackerman

Despite a lot of Attack on Titan shippers hating either Mikasa or Historia because they want Eren to be with the other, the two are actually good friends. They first met in the 104th Cadet Corps, and though they didn't always see eye to eye on things, they respected each other, especially once Historia became queen. When it was discovered that Mikasa was a descendant of Hizuru's royalty, Historia was very happy since she had a friend from the Survey Corps she could relate to again, which she had missed since she could no longer fight the titans directly.

9 Armin Arlert Always Had Faith In Historia

Armin in Attack On Titan.

Armin was another member of the 104th Cadet Corps whom Historia was friends with. Like her, he wasn't one of the strongest soldiers in their group of friends, but he was always very kind to those around him, which made it so these two easily got along with each other. Though they don't have a lot of interactions on their own, they have helped each other out a lot when in danger. Armin always admired Historia and had a lot of faith in how she ruled over Paradis. Even at the end of the manga, he believed in her and convinced other people who betrayed Paradis to have faith in her too.

When Sasha joined the 104th Cadet Corps, she was punished for disrespecting Keith and eating a potato when she shouldn't have. She had to run for hours without taking a break. Luckily, Historia gave her some bread, and Sasha was loyal to her ever since. Throughout their training days, the two helped each other, and if they hadn't, they may not have made it as the ninth and tenth best soldiers of their class.

Shortly after, both Connie and Historia found out that the comrades they were closest to had lied about their identities and were actually titan shifters, making it so the two could relate to each other more than their other friends. Even after Connie betrayed Paradis to stop the Rumbling, Historia proved to be a true friend to him as she took care of his mother, who had turned back into a human.

6 Historia Also Protected Jean & His Family

Like Connie's mother, Historia helped Jean's parents out despite their son betraying Paradis. Even though the two were never that close, this shows that Historia did consider Jean to be a close friend. Her friendship with Jean also shares a lot of similarities to the one she has with Armin. She saved Jean in the Female Titan arc, and he always admired her.

5 Darius Helped Historia Rule Over Paradis

Darius Zackly moments before he died

Before the series even began, Darius was the general of Paradis' military. Because of this, he was able to help Historia out a lot when she was first getting used to being a queen. The two of them had to work closely with each other, and if they didn't have a healthy friendship, Paradis could have been hurt in many ways. Luckily, the two got along well enough to make Paradis a stronger nation before Darius was killed.

During her time there, she helped them out a lot, and despite helping the Survey Corps and Warrior Unit stop the Rumbling, she was welcomed to stay, which was clearly a decision made by Historia. Three years after the Rumbling came to an end, Kiyomi was still in Paradis near Historia, showing that they had become close, along with their two nations.

3 Eren Became A Close Friend To Historia After Learning Who She Really Was

Eren touches Historia's hand and sees his future in Attack on Titan.

Back when Historia pretended to be Krista, Eren didn't care much for her, but once he got to know who she really was, they became close friends. After they learned that Eren's father had killed Historia's family, he wanted her to eat him so that she could inherit the Founding Titan. However, she refused to do so because no matter how much power it would give her, she didn't want to become a titan nor lose him as a friend.

After Eren learned more about his father's past, he found information that could potentially result in Historia being in pain or even dying and kept it to himself, even if he shouldn't have. He also cared about what she thought of him, even if she didn't agree with what he was doing, which caused some fans to want the two to be together.

She became a good role model for Historia and taught her things she thought her younger sister would need to know. Because of her abilities as the Founding Titan, she was able to remove Historia's memories of their meetings together, making it so Historia would never need to miss her. After she remembered her for the last time, she hoped to meet Frieda and was shocked to learn that she had already passed.

1 Ymir& Historia Were Nearly Inseparable

Ymir returns to human form in Attack on Titan.

When it was revealed that Ymir was an inheritor of the Jaw Titan, Reiner and Bertholdt captured her. Knowing their situation, she had to make a choice between helping them or being with Historia and chose the former.

Historia was devastated at first but was able to move on, get married, and have a child of her own. Before she did, however, she read a letter that Ymir had written for her moments before she was eaten. In the letter, Ymir said that her only regret was not marrying Historia. Ymir was the greatest friend Historia had and the most tragic.
