Eren Yeager was the main protagonist of the Attack On Titan series and the wielder of the Attack, Founding, and War Hammer Titans. In spite of his moral decline ever since the revelations about Marley, there have been many instances where he proved himself to be a good person.
His selflessness helped forge valuable friendships that would last for the rest of his life, regardless of the fallout and reckoning they had. By identifying the instances where he was benevolent, we gain a better idea of whether or not Eren could've been redeemed.
10 Eren Saved Mikasa From Slavery
Eren first met Mikasa after ignoring the instructions of his father, Grisha Yeager. By following the bandits who had abducted her and strategically taking them out, he saved the young girl from a life of human trafficking.
However, the final step would have to be taken by her. When the third criminal came into the room and seized Eren by the throat, only Mikasa had the power to stop him from strangling her new friend to death. Their interaction that day would earn Mikasa's affection and loyalty to Eren for almost the rest of his life.
9 Eren Saved Armin From The Bearded Titan
During the first mission to Trost, Armin was nearly eaten by the Bearded Titan. Although he went down the giant's throat, Eren managed to pull him back out — only to take his place as the creature's next meal.
Under ordinary circumstances, this would have been a death sentence. Eren wasn't even aware that he had the Attack Titan, and his arm had been bitten off when he was consumed. Fortunately, it wouldn't be long before he reappeared before his friends with a dramatically different stature.
8 Eren Pledged Himself To The Scouts Before It Was Even Necessary
It might not seem particularly noble for Eren to have joined the Scouts, since he was under obligation to do so. Should he have evaded Erwin's division, the Military Police intended to execute him on the spot.
However, Eren expressed an interest in joining the organization well before he even realized he had special powers. Although he may have been driven by vengeance, his actions were a massive credit to humanity. Without his assistance, the Scouts never would have been a fraction as successful as they were throughout their campaigns. Even Eren's worst detractors acknowledged this fact.
7 Eren Attempted To Save His Comrades From Annie In The Forest
Eren's compassion was best demonstrated during the chase in Titan country. Having witnessed all of the death and sacrifices that were made to delay Annie Leonhart, he was more than willing to stand his ground after she escaped Levi's trap.
During the fight, Eren expressed his regret about letting his comrades die and refused to retreat any further. Although he would ultimately be defeated and swallowed by the Female Titan, his sentiments were touching and illustrated how much he cared about those he served alongside.
6 Eren Saved Mikasa From Being Eaten By Titans At Trost
Despite Mikasa's skill, her circumstances in the battle for Trost quickly took a turn for the worse. Since she was too aggressive in spending her ODM gas, she ended up stranded in the middle of the city and beset on both sides by Titans.
Much to her surprise and bewilderment, she was saved by the Attack Titan. Although Mikasa couldn't immediately recognize its user, she sensed something familiar about him and used the opportunity his diversion created to flee.
5 Eren Complimented Historia About Accepting Herself After Ymir's Disappearance
After Ymir's abduction by the Warriors, there was a palpable shift in Historia's personality. She began to become more assertive in her words and decisions, much to Eren's surprise.
He acknowledged her newfound demeanor in a brief conversation they shared, stating that he liked her much more now than when she was "Krista Lenz." Historia took his words to heart and used them to feel validated when ruling over Paradis as its queen. Eventually, she became so confident that she even punched Levi as a petty gesture of her sovereignty.
4 Eren Gave Humanity Its First Real Victory By Sealing Trost
After the Colossal Titan made its second appearance to kick down Trost's wall, the Scouts knew that doom was at hand. Paradis couldn't afford another population crisis that a second breach would cause and felt as if their problems were only multiplying.
However, Pyxis had confidence that Eren could plug the wall. After some struggling with his Attack Titan form, he hoisted a large boulder over his head, directed it at the hole, and gave humanity its first meaningful victory.
3 Eren Tried To Give Reiner The Benefit Of The Doubt When He Announced His Betrayal
When Reiner first confessed that he was the Armored Titan, Eren was incredulous. He attempted to assure Reiner that he was simply delirious from battle, an excuse that Bertholdt was more than happy to use.
Eren's faith in his comrade was so immense that he was even willing to give him the benefit of the doubt in spite of a debriefing from the previous night about Reiner's true loyalties. Unfortunately, his trust didn't pay off, as he was betrayed by one of his closest friends.
2 Eren Helped Destroy The Reiss Titan's Hulking Body
The Reiss Titan was as enormous as it was unstoppable. Having only been created the previous night, Erwin had to devise an improvised plan in order to save the civilians of the district.
He entrusted Eren with the responsibility of throwing a cluster of explosive kegs into the Titan's exposed maw. Despite the fact that the monster was over ten times taller than him, Eren agreed and heroically lunged into the fray. The Attack Titan's actions bought Historia the opportunity she needed to strike down Rod's nape and establish herself as Paradis' true queen.
1 Eren Defeated Bertholdt And Secured The Colossal Titan For The Scouts
Realizing that Colossal Titan was too powerful to face alone, Eren and Armin conceived a cunning plan to defeat him. The former pretended to fall down the wall and knock himself unconscious while the latter distracted his enemy and forced him to exhaust his steam reserves.
As a result, Eren successfully struck out Bertholdt's nape, thereby defeating the strongest threat of the second battle for Shiganshina. The Warrior's Titan would later be used to restore his friend and destroy Marley.
