MapleStory is a wildly popular free-to-play MMORPG in which players travel a 2D fantasy world, defeating monsters and developing their characters' skills. Attack on Titan, meanwhile, is a wildly popular manga and anime in which the last remnants of humanity in a (dystopian) fantasy world attempt to defeat giant humanoid monsters.

MapleStory publisher Nexon has announced a collaboration that will allow characters level 30 and above to travel through "a mysterious portal" that opens up in Maple World, enlist in the Cadet Corps and join in the fight against the flesh-eating giants.

Attack on Titan fans will see familiar faces, including Eren, Mikasa and Annie -- to say nothing of the Colossal Titan and Smiling Titan.

"Climb to the top of Wall Rose as you man the defenses against the Titan invasion," Nexon teases. "You'll need to tap into every reserve of courage as you face the enormous Colossal Titan."
