For a show that doesn't have a plethora of different outfits, Attack on Titan is always a hit at conventions. Many of the characters all wear the same type of clothing, yet you'll find at least one Mikasa or Levi Ackerman milling around the dealer's room no matter where you are.

We won't be looking at either of the Ackerman today, instead we will be focusing on another popular character, the female titan, Annie Leonhardt. Annie has a distinct look that sets her apart from many of her fellow military members, especially when you consider her ability to turn into the female titan.

10 Steely Gaze

Before you look at anything else, you are instantly drawn to the eyes, enthralled by their hardened gaze and pale coloring.  Katlady98 drew you into the best part of her cosplay, both the eyes and the perfectly designed hairstyle.

The rest of the setup would be Annie in a more casual look, but the rest of the outfit doesn't matter as much as what's above the shoulder. That look in her eyes matches the lack of feeling that Annie has throughout the anime and manga. You can just see her ready to storm past someone or called them an idiot.

9 Refrain

Hana has a more prototypical look for the character, wearing her standard military jacket and undergarment. Sheathed across her hips is her Three Dimensional Maneuver Gear that no titan slayer can leave the house without. It's hard to tell how good it is from the camera angle, but you can see it's there.

The title of the piece is apt as Annie seems to be refraining from action, taking a moment of quiet contemplation before she makes her move. It's a good direction to take for a character that was trained to be a warrior from birth.

8 High Kick

If there's one thing that's synonymous with Annie, it's taking action and being a badass, much like Mikasa. Few anime pull off the strong female character quite as well as Attack on Titan does. None of the female characters take any shit, Annie in particular.

ItsLoki understands that with this action shot. Her legs bent back and ready to pop someone right in the face. It helps show that even without her hand grips or swords, she's a badass who will be difficult to contend with, no matter what the odds may be.

7 Prepared For Battle

This is the first cosplay we can get a clear look at the standard weapons of a corps member and from the looks of things, AsumiChan did a phenomenal job on them. They look like they came straight out of the anime and seem to be made entirely from welded metal. I can only imagine how heavy that was to carry around with her at a convention.

The rest of her outfit matches perfectly as well, giving the closest representation to the anime that we've had so far. As with the others, she has the look down, that heartless expression so synonymous with the character of Annie.

6 Ready To Fight

This cosplayer does a good job of recreating a scene from the anime back when they were training in the corps, taking Annie's signature fighting stance. It's always cool when cosplayers do stuff like this because it instantly makes you remember a part of the show. The only thing missing is her tossing Eren around a little bit.

The rest of the cosplay is of high quality as well, even if the coloring of the jacket is a little duller. Look in her eyes is of pure calculation, waiting for an opening in her opponent's guard so she can strike.

5 Bloodthirsty

This is one of the newer age cosplay photos that are edited in photoshop to seem more like the source material. In one way it does, certain colors pop way more, such as her eyes and coloring of her wig. The blond is so bright it may as well be yellow.

On the other hand, it takes a little away from the work put into it. Too much editing, just like too much makeup, makes everything look fake and that should never be what you're going for. Either way, it is a very nice job by the cosplayer who put a nice little spin on it with the blood smeared across the side of her lips.

4 Titan Form

Characters having titan forms is what makes Attack on Titan such a fun show to cosplay for. It lets you make two distinctly different cosplays for the same character that you love. With that in mind, no Annie cosplay list would be complete without a few of her in her female titan form.

Lleye helps capture that very well with what seems to be a body suit and paint around her face. The design perfectly encapsulates the imagery you see from the anime, most careful work being done around her eyes. They made sure they have the darkened red circles around them that are intricate to making it as close to the character as possible.

3 Towering Titan

This is one case where a bit of photo manipulation and camera work goes a long way. When dealing with creatures that are meant to be towering beasts, you kind of need to use a little bit of manipulation. This is a case of it done extremely well, still looking real while giving you the gravitas of a true titan.

Look of pure disinterest in Allyson Tabbitha's eyes as she towers over you like a speck of nothingness is spot on for someone like Annie. It's a beautiful piece that really captures Annie in her titan form.

2 Up Close And Personal

Closer views of a cosplay naturally give you a greater look at the detail within the part being focused on. In this case, it's WiseKumagoro's hand and face. Starting with the hand, you can see the split between bone and muscle quite well, along with a strong coloring around the knuckles.

Along their face, you see they made it so it looked like the bone was raised a little higher than the muscle, just as it would be in reality. Additional redness around the lips is a nice touch, making it seem like they just ate someone, blood drying to a near flake.

1 Transformation

Kerriliana made an interesting decision in having the titan version of Annie be in a corps jacket, making it seem like she's shedding the false skin of her humanity and becoming what she truly is, a titan. It's a cool take, even if the main reason they probably did it was that they only painted the upper half of her body.

What's crazy about the cosplay is how it seems like her eyes are sunken in, as if the flesh had truly been ripped away from them. There are even specks of bones slightly peeking out from under the dark red muscle. That level of detail is just incredible to see and is shown throughout the entire cosplay.
