Atomic Comics To Donate Proceeds From Sale of "Superman/Batman" #26 to Sam Loeb College Scholarship Fund

Official Press Release

On Thursday, June 1st DC Comics will release a very special comic - Superman/Batman #26. Superman/Batman and TV's Lost writer, Jeph Loeb has teamed up with many of the comic industry's brightest stars to produce a tribute comic plotted by Loeb's son, Sam, who lost his battle with cancer last year.

Atomic Comics is donating the proceeds from this comic's sale to the Sam Loeb College Scholarship Fund. In Jeph's words, "the idea is to give one Senior student, per year, a gift of $10,000.00 to help them with college. It can go toward books, housing, or a car. The student is chosen as the one who best examplifies Sam's spirit -- in other words, brilliant and funny." For more information regarding this charity please email samloeb4@aol.com.

In addition, all of the artwork produced in this making of this comic is available for charity auction. For more information regarding this please visit www.samloeb4.org.

Atomic Comics Owner, Mike Malve, adds,"Jeph lost his son, Sam, last year on June 17th at the tender age of 17. The Loeb family went through possibly the worst thing that could happen to a family. I can't write or draw, so this is the best way I can help my friend, Jeph. I would ask other retailers as well as fans of Jeph to join in on what we are doing by making a donation directly to Sam's Fund. This book represents more than a comic book, this is Sam's legacy!"
