Forgotten Temple Takes Place After Black Flag

Consciously aware of Assassin's Creed's notoriety as one of the most popular video games worldwide, REDICE STUDIO made it their goal "to create a work that would be appealing not only to fans of the original game but also to readers who are encountering the Assassin's Creed IP for the first time through WEBTOON." Taking place right after Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, Assassin's Creed: Forgotten Temple follows Edward Kenway, the privateer-turned-pirate who decides to join the Assassin Brotherhood at the end of Black Flag. Now on a new quest, the Assassin must travel across the waters, searching alongside the coasts of the Southeast Asia seas to find Pieces of Eden, a type of technology that allows the users to mentally and physically control humanity while fending off dangerous and mysterious adversaries. Meanwhile, in the present day, a Korean American descendant of Edward named Noa searches for information about his family, unwittingly uncovering Edward's past.

Ubisoft's Director of Global TV & Transmedia Business Development Julien Fabre revealed how thrilled they were with the collaboration with WEBTOON and REDICE STUDIO, saying, "We've been working hard with the talented folks at REDICE to craft this original Assassin's Creed Black Flag sequel and hope that existing fans and new readers around the world will enjoy it." David Lee, WEBTOON's VP of Content, expressed similar sentiments. "As longtime fans of the franchise, we can't wait for readers to see where Edward Kenway's story goes next," he said. "This incredible series will captivate existing fans of the Assassin's Creed video games while introducing this beloved IP to a new audience on WEBTOON."
