Only days after going live, Ubisoft announced that Assassin's Creed Valhalla broke a launch week sales record for the popular franchise.

The gaming company stated its latest game sold more copies in its first week than any other Assassin's Creed game. It even revealed Valhalla is Ubisoft's biggest PC launch in the company's history.

"We are truly delighted by the enthusiastic response from players and want to thank the fans for their incredible support. Delivering this game amid a global pandemic was a true tour de force by our teams and it’s fantastic to see players enjoying the game so much," the game's producer Julien Laferrière said in a statement. "Launch is only the beginning and we have robust content plans for Assassin's Creed Valhalla that will keep players immersed in their epic Viking saga for a long time to come."

Along with an impressive first week, the gaming company will be launching a seasonal DLC in December with two expansion packs, including one titled Wrath of Druid, for 2021.

Developed by Ubisoft Montreal and published by Ubisoft, Assassin's Creed Valhalla is currently available on Playstation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, Microsoft Windows and Google Stadia. In Europe, the PlayStation 5 version of the game arrives on Nov. 19.
