Netflix's upcoming Assassin's Creed TV series has found its writer in Jeb Stuart.

Variety reports that Stuart will pen the series, which Ubisoft Film & Television’s Jason Altman and Danielle Kreinik will executive produce. No additional details on the project have been released, but it's the second Netflix project Stuart has joined as a writer. Stuart created the upcoming Vikings: Valhalla, a spinoff series of the hit History series which has become popular on Netflix. Fittingly, the most recent Assassin's Creed game also bears the "Valhalla" subtitle and centers on Vikings.

Stuart made a name for himself in the late '80s and early '90s by penning the scripts for Die HardAnother 48 Hrs. and The Fugitive. He all but disappeared in the late '90s, however, popping back up with a project here and there before returning in force with the Vikings series and now the Assassin's Creed gig.

In October of last year, the Assassin's Creed live-action series was announced as part of a partnership between game developer Ubisoft and Netflix. "We’re excited to partner with Ubisoft and bring to life the rich, multilayered storytelling that Assassin’s Creed is beloved for," Netflix VP of Original Programming Peter Friedlander said at the time. "From its breathtaking historical worlds and massive global appeal as one of the best selling video game franchises of all time, we are committed to carefully crafting epic and thrilling entertainment based on this distinct IP and provide a deeper dive for fans and our members around the world to enjoy."

That deal also promises the release of both an anime-style series and an additional animated series set to arrive after the live-action show. After the failure of 2016's Assassin's Creed film adaptation starring Michael Fassbender, it seems Ubisoft is looking to the television format to better adapt its popular games.

Assassin's Creed won't be alone in getting an adaptation from Netflix. Just days ago, Netflix released the trailer for Captain Laserhawk: A Blood Dragon Remix, an anime series from Adi Shankar set in the world of the Far Cry games. An additional Far Cry animated series is also in the works from Shankar and Netflix. That same day, Netflix also revealed the first look at the Splinter Cell anime series from John Wick and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier writer Derek Kolstad.

In addition to the upcoming anime adaptations of Ubisoft games, a film adaptation of Tom Clancy's The Division is also in the works with Jake Gyllenhaal and Jessica Chastain starring.
