Ahead of its release in just over a week, Fox has released two more clips from their upcoming video game adaptation "Assassin's Creed." The film, based on the blockbuster video-game franchise, spans two distinct eras: the 15th century and the near future. Linking the two eras is Michael Fassbender's Callum Lynch, a career criminal that's rescued from execution by Abstergo Industries and forced to participate in the Animus Project.

The first of the two clips, titled "Leap of Faith," shows how those two eras are physically linked as the future Callum Lynch physically recreates the movements of his ancestor in an intense action sequence.

The other clip takes place presumably before the other one, as Michael Fassbender's character adjusts to life in Abstergo Industries and gets a crash course in his new situation by a fellow inmate played by Michael K. Williams.

Through a revolutionary technology that unlocks his genetic memories, Callum Lynch (Michael Fassbender) experiences the adventures of his ancestor, Aguilar, in 15th Century Spain. Callum discovers he is descended from a mysterious secret society, the Assassins, and amasses incredible knowledge and skills to take on the oppressive and powerful Templar organization in the present day.

Directed by Justin Kurzel (“Snowtown,” “Macbeth”), the film also stars Marion Cotillard, Jeremy Irons, Brendan Gleeson and Michael K. Williams. “Assassin’s Creed” opens Dec. 21.
