Aspen Comics Set for Free Comic Book Day, Presents Worlds of Aspen 2010 Book and Event Schedule

Official Press Release

Free Comic Book Day Silver Sponsor Aspen Comics is eager to participate in this year's festivities, and will be providing a sneak peek at everything the publisher has in store for the future in their offering, Worlds of Aspen 2010. Kicking off this special collection of Aspen's finest, the publisher is excited to present for the first time ever, an all-new eight-page FCBD story by Vince Hernandez, Scott Clark and Peter Steigerwald featuring Fathom's preeminent heroine, Aspen Matthews, along with nearly the entire cast of the Aspen Universe in one very special story titled, naturally, "Worlds of Aspen."

As well, Worlds of Aspen will include special sneak peek previews of never-before-seen pages from Aspen's most popular new series. Starting with an exciting world premiere look at Mindfield #1 from red hot creator J.T. Krul with Alex Konat, Saleem Crawford and John Starr before it hits stores this June. WOA 2010 will also be including a sampling of the thrilling fourth issue of the critically acclaimed series, Executive Assistant: Iris by David Wohl and Eduardo Francisco with Starr, a first look at the pulse pounding fifth issue of Dellec featuring Aspen's own Frank Mastromauro, Hernandez and illustrations by Micah Gunnell, Rob Stull, and Steigerwald out this May, and first look pages from issue five of the flagship Aspen series Soulfire: Volume 2 by Krul and fan favorite artist Marcus To with Saleem Crawford and Beth Sotelo, also in stores this May.

Worlds of Aspen 2010 will also include the special Lady Mechanika pinup piece by superstar creator Joe Benitez and colorist Steigerwald. Lady Mechanika is Joe Benitez' new supernatural steampunk adventure series set for a Fall debut. WOA 2010 will also contain an exclusive double page spread of Aspen's new upcoming horror action adventure series The Scourge, by Eric Battle and Steigerwald. The Scourge is created by legendary Comic Book scribe Scott Lobdell and is set to invade comic book stores this summer.

Topping off the issue, Aspen will also be proudly presenting a world premiere look at the long-awaited Aspen Matthews statue, beautifully designed by Fathom creator Michael Turner stunningly brought to life by renowned sculptor Dene Mason on the back cover of Worlds of Aspen 2010, making this a must-own Free Comic Book Day offering for all Aspen fans.
