Just two weeks after the commencement of principal photography on DC and Warner Bros./New Line's upcoming superhero blockbuster Shazam!, Billy Batson actor Asher Angel has already taken to social media to share a behind-the-scenes photo from his first day on-set.RELATED: Shazam! Movie Could Turn Superman Into the DCEU’s Nick Fury"Day 1," Angel tweeted, along with a photo of a director's-style chair emblazoned with the name "Billy Batson." It's a relatively minor tease, but nonetheless, it should be of interest to those following along with the timeline of the film's production.

Batson is the teenage alter ego of the adult superhero who, after speaking the wizard Shazam’s name, is granted the powers of the gods Solomon (wisdom), Hercules (strength), Atlas (stamina), Zeus (power), Achilles (courage) and Mercury (speed). He can transform back and forth from his teen body to an adult by uttering the wizard’s name, which also includes a bolt of lightning reigning down from the sky.

Asher was cast as Batson in early November of last year, not long after Zachary Levi signed on to play his adult superhero alter ego Shazam, formerly known as Captain Marvel.

We all have a superhero inside us, it just takes a bit of magic to bring it out. In Billy Batson’s (Angel) case, by shouting out one word—SHAZAM!—this streetwise 14-year-old foster kid can turn into the adult Super Hero Shazam (Levi), courtesy of an ancient wizard. Still a kid at heart—inside a ripped, godlike body—Shazam revels in this adult version of himself by doing what any teen would do with superpowers: have fun with them! Can he fly? Does he have X-ray vision? Can he shoot lightning out of his hands? Can he skip his social studies test? Shazam sets out to test the limits of his abilities with the joyful recklessness of a child. But he’ll need to master these powers quickly in order to fight the deadly forces of evil controlled by Dr. Thaddeus Sivana (Strong).

Arriving in theaters on April 5, 2019, Shazam! stars Zachary Levi as the titular hero, Asher Angel as Billy Batson, Mark Strong as Doctor Sivana, Grace Fulton as Mary Bromfield, Jack Dylan Grazer as Freddy Freeman, Ian Chen as Eugene Choi, Jovan Armand as Pedro Pena, Ron Cephas Jones as the Wizard and Cooper Andrews and Marta Milans as foster parents Victor and Rosa Vasquez.
