The first trailer for the third season of Ascendance of a Bookworm is here to give fans a look at what's next for the booksmart Myne and her new life in a fantasy world.

The trailer hints at the challenges protagonist Myne will have to face as she continues to pursue her goal of creating and printing her own books. It also introduces Sylvester, a new character played by veteran voice actor Kazuhiko Inoue (Tokyo GhoulNaruto).

The main cast members from the first two seasons of Ascendance of a Bookworm are returning for Season 3, including Yuka Iguchi (Boruto: Naruto Next GenerationsFairy Gone) as Myne, Show Hayami (Record of RagnarokFire Force) as Ferdinand, Megumi Nakajima (Shaman KingViolet Evergarden) as Tuuli and Fumiko Orikasa (Appare-Ranman!Tokyo Ghoul) as Effa.

The new season will also feature multiple additions to the show's creative team. Haruka Matsunae (Banana Fish) and Noriko Otake (Saiyuki Reload, Black Clover) join the team as the third character designer and chief animation director, respectively. Ascendance of a Bookworm will continue to be animated by Ajia-do Animation Works (How Not to Summon a Demon Lord) and directed by Mitsuru Hongo (World TriggerImmortal Grand Prix).

The first two seasons of Ascendance of a Bookworm are available to stream on Crunchyroll, and the third season is expected to premiere sometime in spring 2022.
