DC has debuted a comic book-inspired poster for this year's Arrowverse crossover, "Elseworlds."
The three-night event, which debuts Dec. 9 on The CW, finds reality rewritten by a maniacal by Arkham Asylum physician John Deegan (Jeremy Davies), which results in Barry Allen and Oliver Queen switching bodies, and costumed identities -- for starters. "Elseworlds" also introduces Ruby Rose as Batwoman and Elizabeth Tulloch as Lois Lane, as well as the return of Tyler Hoechlin as Superman.
Designed to look like a DC comics cover, the poster by Amy Reeder depicts Grant Gustin's Green Arrow and Stephen Amell's Flash seemingly facing up against each, flanked by Batwoman, Superman and Melissa Benoist's Supergirl, as Dr. Deegan laughs from below. The action is watched over by LaMonica Garrett as the Monitor, a character best known to comics fans from DC's Crisis on Infinite Earths.
A comics-inspired poster was similarly released last year for "Crisis On Earth-X," although that one hid plenty of Easter eggs for the 2017 crossover. This one, by contrasts, appears pretty straightforward, aside from the Freaky Friday-like switch involving Barry Allen and Oliver Queen.
"Elseworlds" kicks off Sunday, Dec. 9, at 8 p.m. ET/PT with The Flash, and continues Monday, Dec. 10, with Arrow and Tuesday, Dec. 11, with Supergirl.
