In a new trailer celebrating the Arrowverse, The CW welcomed Superman & Lois into its DCTV fold.

The trailer picks up just like the Arrowverse did: with Arrow, the network's first superhero show following the Smallville series finale. As the video mashes up Arrow's comic book source material with footage from the series, it touts the fact that the show went on to become its own universe, including spinoffs The Flash, SupergirlDC's Legends of TomorrowBlack Lightning and Batwoman.

After exploring the existing Arrowverse series, the trailer cuts to the newest entry in the universe: Superman & Lois. With the sound of trumpets echoing John Williams' Superman theme, the camera pans over a row of front page news stories proclaiming, "Caped Wonder Stuns City," "I Spent the Night with Superman" and "Superman Saves the Day."

"What if this wasn't the life we were meant to have after Crisis?" Tyler Hoechlin's Superman asks in a voice over, as he chops wood on the Kent Farm. Then, he speaks directly to his sons off-screen, saying, "Your mother is planning a trip." However, the trailer does not reveal where Lois is going or why.

As the camera pans over a wide shot of Smallville, Clark Kent's home town, another woman speaks to him. "Clark Kent, back in Smallville," she chuckles. This does not sound like Elizabeth Tulloch's Lois Lane, so it may be his childhood friend Lana Lang, who will be played by Emmanuelle Chriqui on the series.

"This family needs Smallville, as much as the world needs Superman," Clark insists as the camera zooms in on him holding up a truck while Lois lies underneath, fixing it.

From there, the trailer shows previously shot footage from the Arrowverse. Clips from Supergirl and the "Elseworlds" and "Crisis on Infinite Earths" crossovers rehash what we have seen of the characters so far.

Although Superman & Lois is a major centerpiece of this Arrowverse trailer, no new footage of the series was revealed. This is likely because of the fact that production has only just resumed in Vancouver, after a months-long suspension due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. However, all of the voice-over narration appears to be new, and it dropped a few clues about the Kent family's move back to Smallville.

Debuting in January 2021, Superman & Lois stars Tyler Hoechlin, Elizabeth Tulloch, Dylan Walsh, Alex Garfin, Jordan Elsass, Emmanuelle Chriqui, Inde Navarrette and Wolé Parks.
