Following the release of the first official look at the Arrowverse's The Monitor, co-creator Marv Wolfman offered his thoughts on seeing a live-action version of the character for the first time."Of all the characters I've co-created over the years, I never, ever expected the Monitor would not only make it to TV, but to be done so perfectly," Wolfman said on Twitter. "Wow! I am brainboggled."RELATED: Arrowverse Crossover Heads to Chicago For Gotham City Scenes

Arrow showrunner Marc Guggenheim expressed his gratitude for Wolfman's words of approval, responding with a tweet of his own, reading, "This makes my year!" Additionally, Monitor actor LaMonica Garrett responded to the thread with a folded hands emoji.

Wolfman co-created The Monitor alongside artist and longtime DC collaborator George Pérez. The character made his debut (albeit a shadowy one) in 1982's The New Teen Titans #21. Readers would get their first unobstructed look at the Monitor a few years later in the pages of 1985's G.I. Combat #274.

The character is set to make his debut during "Elseworlds," the upcoming Arrowverse crossover event. That event will also introduce Ruby Rose as Kate Kane/Batwoman, Elizabeth Tulloch as Lois Lane, Bob Frazer as Psycho-Pirate and more.
