Arrowverse's Monitor First Look Is Insanely Comics-Accurate

Amid a flurry of photos from the set of this year's Arrowverse crossover, "Elseworlds," arrives the first unofficial look at LaMonica Garrett as the Monitor. He'll be instantly recognizable to DC fans, as the production has remained faithful to the character's comic book depiction, right down to his distinctive hairstyle and facial hair.

The Monitor played a pivotal role in DC's Crisis on Infinite Earths, the limited series that merged the worlds of the publisher's multiverse into one reality. An extraterrestrial possessing infinite power, the Monitor is the living embodiment of the universe’s positive matter, and the natural enemy of the Anti-Monitor, a being of anti-matter.

It's unknown what role the Monitor will play in "Elseworlds," but it's become clear the event will take Green Arrow, The Flash and Supergirl to alternate Earths, on which Oliver Queen and Barry Allen switch superhero identities, actor John Wesley Shipp returns to his 1990s Flash costume, and Superman dons his elusive black suit. That's only for starters, as the three-night event also introduces Ruby Rose as Batwoman, and Elizabeth Tulloch as Lois Lane.
