The upcoming Arrowverse crossover event Elseworlds is set to mark the television debut of DC character Mar-Novu, aka the Monitor. Now, the official first-look image of one of the latest additions to the Arrowverse's roster has made its debut.
Entertainment Weekly revealed the fiery image of LaMonica Garrett in costume as the Monitor, who is surrounded by cataclysmic destruction as he holds a mysterious tome in his hand. The Monitor is described as “an extraterrestrial being of infinite power."
"LaMonica was ridiculous, like seeing him in his suit, he’s just a monster,” The Flash star Grant Gustin added. “He’s like an absolute unit. He doesn’t have to do a lot with his performance. He’s so intimidating with just these subtleties, so that’s dope.”
The Monitor is a character who goes hand-in-hand with events related to shaking up DC's multiverse, having made his comic book debut during the seismic Crisis on Infinite Earths series. In turn, it only stands to reason that he would make his live-action debut in an event such as "Elseworlds."
In addition to Garrett's monitor, such characters as Ruby Rose's Batwoman, Cassandra Jean Amell's Nora Fries and Elizabeth Tulloch's Lois Lane will also be making their Arrowverse debuts during the highly-anticipated crossover event.
The three-night Arrowverse crossover begins on Sunday, December 9, at 8 p.m. ET/PT on The CW.
