Casting is underway for the Arrowverse's very own Lois Lane. A breakdown for the beloved character promises she will follow in the footsteps of her comic book counterpart when she appears in this year's three-show crossover.

According to a report from ThatHashtagShow, DCTV's annual crossover is seeking a Caucasian woman in her early 30s for the part. The subsequent breakdown, appearing in full below, describes Lois as "tough, principled and dogged":

[LOIS LANE] Female, early 30s, Caucasian. The daughter of a US army general, Lois is tough, principled and dogged. She’s a journalist who will do anything to get the story — and almost always does. This character will appear in the The Flash and Supergirl crossover event. RECURRING GUEST STAR.

Lois will be joined by her paramour Superman, with Tyler Hoechlin reprising his role from Supergirl Season 2. She will make her debut alongside Kate "Batwoman" Kane, as played by CW newcomer Ruby Rose. Rose was cast in the role earlier this month.

Lois isn't the first Lane to appear in the Arrowverse. Supergirl Season 1 introduced her father General Sam Lane (Glenn Morshower) and her sister Lucy Lane (Jenna Dewan). Though General Lane was positioned as an antagonist who ideologically opposed Supergirl in many ways, Lucy was a frequent ally.

DCTV returns to The CW this fall with The Flash leading the charge on Tuesday, October 9 with its Season 5 premiere at 8 PM ET/PT, followed by Season 2 of Black Lightning at 9 PM. Supergirl will follow the next week on Sunday, October 14 at 8 PM, with Arrow the next day on Monday, October 15 at 8 PM. Finally, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow will return on Monday, October 22 at 9 PM. The highly-anticipated crossover will air over three nights, starting on Sunday, December 9 through Tuesday, December 11.
