What would superheroes be without love? More often than not, their families, friends, and especially their life partners push them and inspire them to become the best version of themselves while helping them to stay connected to their humanity.

In the Arrowverse, these superhero relationships are a very big part of their stories. Now, while many couples in this universe are frowned upon, others have captivated the audience from the beginning. Some of these romances come directly from the comics, but others were cultivated in the shows. Regardless, all of them have a special place in the heart of their fans.

10 Cisco "Vibe" Ramon And Cynthia AKA Gypsy Should Have Stayed Together

cisco and gypsy

Cisco and Cynthia met when she arrived in Earth 1 to collect H.R. Wells, who was there illegally. In fact, their first interaction was a battle for Wells' freedom, which Cisco won. After this, Gypsy returned to her Earth, but her chemistry with Cisco was such that soon they became a couple. However, their long-distance relationship reached its end after neither of them was willing to change Earth for the other.

Although their romance was short-lived, Cynthia and Cisco shouldn't have broken up. Their dynamic and chemistry were on point from the beginning and, as most fans believe, there was no need to kill off her character.

9 Ryan Wilder And Sophie Moore Are Yet To Become A Couple

Batwoman 213 Mary Sophie Ryan

From the moment Ryan Wilder was introduced as a character in Batwoman, an enemies-to-friends-t0-lovers dynamic was set in motion between her and Sophie Moore. Even Caroline Dries, Batwoman's showrunner, admitted that them getting closer was a natural movement for their dynamic.

This pairing makes perfect sense in the show narrative. On the one hand, both women are confirmed to be a part of the LGBT community as lesbians. On the other, there's already a precedent for Sophie as the main romantic interest of Batwoman. There's not a reason why this shouldn't occur regardless of the secret identity behind the hero.

Caitlyn Snow and Ronnie Raymond were working on S.T.A.R. Labs when the particle accelerator malfunctioned. After this, he was assumed dead, but in reality, the explosion had merged him with Profesor Martin Stein and turned them into a metahuman.

After the Flash Team learned this, they were able to separate them and the two of them became Firestorm, a member of the team. However, during the season finale, Ronnie died attempting to dissolve the singularity created by Reverse-Flash's death. Many fans consider Ronnie's to be an unnecessary ending for the character and also, a very torturous experience for Caitlyn, who had to mourn the love of her life twice.

7 Oliver Queen And Felicity Smoak Should Have Grown Old Together

Oliver Queen and Felicity Smoak met during Arrow's first season, as Felicity works for the I.T. department of Queen Consolidated and Oliver constantly requested her help with Arrow-related activities. After she discovered his secret life as a vigilante, Felicity became a part of the Arrow Team and the two of them fall in love.

Towards the end of the show, fans learned Felicity and Oliver have a daughter, Mia. Unfortunately, Oliver dies during Crisis on Infinite Earths, sacrificing himself for the multiverse. Many fans consider this to be an unfair outcome for the couple, who should have had an opportunity for happiness in the future.

While Nia Nal is an original CW character loosely inspired by Dream Girl, Brainiac 5 is a well-known member of the Legion of Super-Heroes. During Supergirl's fourth season, Nia discovers she has powers and becomes Dreamer. After this, she becomes a part of the SuperFriends, where she meets Brainiac 5.

In a season where the dangers of ostracization are one of the main topics, Nia and Brainy discover they have a lot in common. Ray Palmer, AKA Atom, is one of the DC Legends of Tomorrow's original members. He met Nora when she was helping her father, the villain Damien Darkh, with his evil plans. After Norah was arrested by the Time Bureau, her attitude changed from a villain to an ally, and she and ray eventually fall for each other.

Even though she was raised by an egomaniac, Nora is funny and smart, and Ray is loyal and sweet, so together they make a couple with great chemistry, which probably comes from the fact that the actors are married in real life. This couple has a happy ending on the show, they leave the Legends when Nora becomes a fairy godmother, but not before getting married in front of their Legend family, giving the fans one of the most heartwarming moments of the show.

3 It Is Only Logical That Ava Sharpe And Sara Lance Are Together

Sara Lance was originally a member of the League of Assassins and a vigilante known as Canary, but then she was recruited by Rip Hunter to become part of the Legends of Tomorrow, and eventually became the leader of the team. Meanwhile, Ava was an agent of the Time Bureau, an agency created to protect the timeline that considers the Legends to be a threat. Because of this, the couple shares an awkward first meeting story.

Their enemies-to-lovers-to-married-couple story is epic. Even though they don’t see eye to eye at the beginning, Sara and Ava eventually manage to resolve their differences. They’re an amazing power couple that constantly put their lives on the line to save each other and keep the villains at bay.

2 Barry Allen And Iris West-Allen Are Proof That True Love Exists

Barry Iris The Flash

Finally, they confess their feelings for each other at the end of the second season and from then on, they became inseparable.

Iris and Barry's love is unconditional and it goes beyond any obstacle. They even say that they’re both The Flash because Barry wouldn’t be the superhero he is without her. It’s safe to say that their undefeatable love is one of the strongest forces in the Arrowverse.

It is impossible to think about Superman without thinking about Lois Lane, and that guarantees this couple a place on this list. In almost every iteration of the DC Universe, these two characters met when working at the Daily Planet, and later when Superman saves her from any kind of threat. The Arrowverse is not the exception.

Here, Superman and Lois are already a married couple, and they even have two sons, Jonathan and Jordan. They live together in Smallville, where they relocate after Martha Kent dies and once Jordan finds out about his powers. Regardless of the stage of their relationship, Clark and Lois' love is as strong as ever.
