Despite playing the titular character of Arrow on The CW for the past six years, star Stephen Amell was recently mixed up with a very different DC superhero.
Amell posted on Twitter about a bartender confusing the actor for Chris O'Donnell, who played Batman's trusty sidekick and youthful ward Dick Grayson in 1995's Batman Forever and 1997's Batman & Robin. To add good-natured insult to injury, the barkeep not only mistook O'Donnell for Robin but also assumed the older actor actually starred on Arrow as well.
Taking the case of mistaken identity in stride, Amell recalled that had previously worked with O'Donnell on a 2010 episode of NCIS: LA, prior to Amell's casting on Arrow, and that the two DC superhero actors had a pleasant working relationship during production.
Arrow officially kicked off production on its seventh season this past weekend picking up on the cliffhanger ending from this past May's Season 6 finale. After spending much of the sixth season facing scrutiny under the FBI for his activities as Green Arrow, Oliver Queen officially stepped down as Star City's mayor and admitted to his vigilante activities. The revelation led to Queen's arrest and incarceration with the upcoming season expected to follow the former mayor in a federal maximum security prison for killing multiple people as the hooded crimefighter.
Hopefully, it'll still be Amell defending Star City in the new season and not O'Donnell pulling a switch.
Returning this fall to The CW, Arrow stars Stephen Amell as Oliver Queen, David Ramsey as John Diggle, Emily Bett Rickards as Felicity Smoak, Rick Gonzalez as Wild Dog, Echo Kellum as Mr. Terrific, Juliana Harkavy as Black Canary, and Katie Cassidy as Black Siren.
