Like most shows this season, The CW's Arrow is making a big deal about its "winter finale," which is just code for "the weeks where we don't bother showing new episodes because everyone's busy with the holidays." Last week, we saw a few images from the episode, which is appropriately called "Year's End" and features a mysterious, dark-clad archer aiming for Oliver Queen. Now, the network has released a promo as well.

But that's not all in the way of Arrow news. TVLine spoke with Fringe alum Seth Gabel, who will appear on the breakout drama as a villain inspired by DC Comics' Count Vertigo.

This Count deals a drug called Vertigo, which if taken orally, makes you feel like you're "walking on air." However, if you inject it, well, we don't know exactly what happens, but it's no good. Here's what he had to say:

“It’s the most fun I’ve ever had,” said Gabel, who described his alter ego’s look as “very street, in a flamboyant, theatrical, grounded way,” with spiky hair, fingerless gloves and “a lot of black.” Does Oliver have his work cut out for him? Sure sounds like it. “I basically rule the street, so he’s got a long way to go up the chain to get to me,” Gabel warns.

"Year's End" premieres Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET/PT. The series returns with new episodes on Jan. 9 with the Firefly-themed "Burned."
