After working for the Monitor at the beginning of Season 8, Oliver Queen has found the means to defeat his stern overseer in an upcoming episode of Arrow.
The CW has released the official plot synopsis for the final season's fifth episode, "Prochnost," which means "endurance" in Russian. The episode has Oliver lead the rest of Team Arrow to Russia to obtain the components necessary to defeat the omnipotent figure after learning that he may not actually be on their side. DON’T LET YOUR PAST DEFINE YOU – Upon learning the key to oppose The Monitor (guest star LaMonica Garrett), Oliver (Stephen Amell) and the team return to Russia on a mission to gather the necessary materials. Connor (Joseph David-Jones) reunites with a figure from his past.
Oliver had started Season 8 working for the Monitor as part of a sworn agreement during last season's Arrowverse crossover "Elseworlds." In last week's episode, Oliver and Thea discovered an ancient text that made them question the Monitor's true ambitions.
