All good things eventually end, and on Arrow that means Oliver Queen's team-up with sister Thea. After more than 130 episodes, original cast member Willa Holland said goodbye to the CW drama with last week's episode.

The actress had reportedly had sought to leave the drama at the end of Season 4, but settled for appearing in fewer episodes in the fifth and sixth seasons. In “The Thanatos Guild,” she was written off the series as she left Star City with Roy Harper and Nyssa al Ghul to find and destroy three new Lazarus Pits to keep them out of the hands of a splinter faction of the League of Assassins.

“Willa was nothing short of professional and excellent, and always delivered tremendous performances," star Stephen Amell told TVLine. "But I know that she wanted to move on with her career. And I totally respect that. And I’m glad that she’s going to get that opportunity.”

Many fans and Amell himself have enjoyed the dynamic of Oliver and Thea, and it was his idea to have their final moment on the show together be a hug goodbye that harks back to the reunion embrace from the pilot episode.

He added that Holland's departure was "a good opportunity for us to bring Colton Haynes back [as Roy Harper], and that was exciting."

However, this doesn't necessarily mean Thea won't some day show up again in Star City, as showunner Marc Guggenheim said last week, "The door is always open for Willa to return if she has a hankering to.”

Airing Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET/PT on The CW, Arrow stars Stephen Amell, David Ramsey, Emily Bett Rickards, Rick Gonzalez, Echo Kellum, Juliana Harkavy, Kirk Acevado, Paul Blackthorne and Katie Cassidy.
