Arrow star Stephen Amell has played Oliver Queen/Green Arrow since the CW show launched in 2012. Although he's said he's willing to reprise his role after Arrow Season 8 brings Oliver's story to an end, he's not counting out the possibility of playing another DC character, though he has one condition.

“I’d like to play a villain," Amell said at MCM London. "If I’m going to play a DC character again, it has to be a villain,” the actor said before adding, “I like villains.”

When asked about his favorite villain, Amell replied, “General Zod. I watched Superman II with my kid the other day, and it was the best.”

As Michael Shannon played Zod in the DC Extended Universe's Man of Steel and Colin Salmon plays the character on Krypton, it seems unlikely the role will open up any time soon. However, there might be room for Amell to play a different villain at some point in the future.

Amell confirmed Arrow Season 8 would be the long-running DC series' last this March. Season 7 came to an end with "You Have Saved This City," which saw Oliver Queen leaving with The Monitor in preparation for Crisis on Infinite Earths. That event, which airs later this year, will almost certainly spell doom for the character. Season 8 is set to debut on The CW in Fall 2019 and will be 10 episodes long.
