As the penultimate season of Arrow draws to a close, Colton Haynes looks set to reprise his role as Roy Harper in the present timeline.

A set photo posted to Instagram by actor David Ramsey revealed much of Team Arrow suited up, including Roy Harper in his Arsenal costume. By the looks of it, this isn't the older version of Roy that's appeared in Season 7.

Although he's played a major role in the show's flashforwards, Roy hasn't been seen in the present timeline since the Season 6 episode “The Thanatos Guild.” That episode ended with Roy joining Nyssa al Ghul and Thea Queen on a global quest to destroy the remaining Lazarus Pits. Since that episode, the fates of the trio and the status of their quest have been seldom mentioned or referenced, though it's implied that something bad happened to Harper during that time.

It's unclear just for how long and why Arsenal is re-joining the team. Haynes was promoted to a series regular on Arrow after being absent from the hit CW drama for several seasons. The season premiere introduced an older version of the character from 15 years in the future, living in solitude on Lian Yu. When Oliver’s estranged son William finds himself on the island tracking a message from Felicity, Roy wound up back in Star City. Since then, his appearances in the future segments have been sporadic.
