Arrow has given Roy Harper, aka Arsenal, a serious upgrade.

New photos from "Fadeout," the series finale, show Roy wearing an advanced prosthetic that allows him to draw and fire his bow. The photos also see him in his Arsenal costume, which suggests he has returned to his vigilante ways in Star City.

In "Purgatory," the last pre-"Crisis" episode of Arrow, Roy lost his arm in a plane crash. As he headed to Lian Yu with Dinah Drake and Rene Ramirez, they were attacked; a missile shot the plane down, resulting in an explosive crash. Roy was thrown from the plane and pinned by debris. John Diggle and his adopted son Connor Hawke were forced to amputate his arm to free him, irrevocably changing his life.

In the comics, of course, Roy losing his arm was an important milestone for the character -- so much so that Arrow fans have been waiting for Roy to lose his arm almost as soon as he was introduced on the series back in Season 1. The villain Prometheus cut Roy's arm off, leading him to get the cybernetic arm that would become a signature part of his look. The Young Justice animated series also explored this storyline.

Arrow stars Stephen Amell as Oliver Queen, David Ramsey as John Diggle, Rick Gonzalez as Wild Dog, Juliana Harkavy as Black Canary, Katie Cassidy as Black Siren, Katherine McNamara as Mia Smoak, Joseph David-Jones as Connor Hawke and Ben Lewis as William Clayton-Queen. Arrow’s final episode will air Tuesday, Jan. 28 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on The CW.
