After eight seasons, Arrow is coming to a close, with the series' extensive supporting cast assembling to pay their last respects to the dearly departed Oliver Queen.

With previously released official stills from the series finale revealing the characters gathered for Oliver's funeral, the wake provides the opportunity for Felicity Smoak to meet her time-displaced daughter Mia, now an adult after traveling decades into the Arrowverse's past. According to series showrunner Beth Schwartz, the mother-daughter moment will be one full of wish fulfillment for the pair, drawing from Schwartz's own recent experiences as a mother.

"There’s a lot of wish fulfillment," Schwartz told Variety. "One, being a parent -- and I’m a new parent -- seeing your child in their adult self is really crazy and also amazing when you’re proud of who she became as a woman and also honoring her father’s legacy. [It was] not obviously under great circumstances because they’re at Oliver’s funeral, but I think it was a very meaningful moment in their lives.”

Mia will continue Oliver's legacy as the new Green Arrow in the planned spinoff series Green Arrow and the Canaries, which received a backdoor pilot in Arrow's penultimate episode. In the meantime, Schwartz has promised the series finale will provide closure as the inaugural Arrowverse series concludes.
