The fifth season of the CW’s Arrow ended with an explosive finale that left a lot up in the air – who lived, who died and where does the Green Arrow go from here? Amid all the action, though, there was some resolution. One example is that Oliver Queen’s son, William, finally learned that his father and the vigilante Green Arrow are one and the same. According to the series’ star, Stephen Amell, that revelation will be a big focus going into the show’s sixth season.

Amell confirmed as much over the weekend when he spoke at the Portland Heroes and Villains Fan Fest:

“I'm excited that not only are they going to learn about having the father/son relationship, I think we're going to explore that in Season 6, but [William] also knows that Oliver is the Green Arrow. So there's a lot of interesting layers and dynamics. I'm just excited to have to teach him a lesson. As a father, Oliver will definitely try to be better than what he's been as a person... So hopefully he can be a good example for William.”

William was once the long-estranged son of Oliver, but the two have enjoyed a spotty relationship that has largely revolved around awkward meetings and Oliver having to save William from certain doom upon being kidnapped. That relationship looks to be getting an upgrade when season six rolls around, though there’s no telling exactly how the two will bond. Right now it’s a toss-up between playing ball in the yard and proper arrow nocking etiquette.
