Last time we saw Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) at the close of Arrow Season 6, the superhero had traded in his green hood and bow for the garb of a prisoner. Queen struck a deal with the authorities that would save his friends from persecution, and now he was bound to be locked up in a supermax prison filled with inmates the Green Arrow helped put away.

Now, thanks to a new trailer for the Season 7 premiere of the series, we know that trouble will come for Oliver and his friends from all sides.  Not only will the former vigilante fight to survive every single day of his stay in prison, but the threat of Ricardo "The Dragon" Diaz (Kirk Acevedo) is still looming over Star City -- and he won't be coming alone.

In the Season 6 finale, Diaz revealed that he had reached out to the Longbow Hunters, a legendary team of assassins that even Oliver and Diggle (David Ramsey) had heard about. Their identities were kept a secret, and it was teased that they had been around for a very, very long time. Well now, thanks to the new Season 7 trailer, we finally have our first look at the legendary assassins.

In the comic books, the Longbow Hunters were a team put together by Richard Dragon to oppose the Green Arrow. The group included Count Vertigo, Brick, Red Dart, and Killer Moth, and they were led by Dragon himself.

For Season 7 of Arrow, the Hunters will actually be different. Instead of being put together by Diaz, they appear to have a history prior to him, and he will only be the one to hire them. Plus, the series' version of the team's roster is different, given that it is comprised of Kodiak, seen as the Leader of the Shield Clan in the Green Arrow comic book storyline "The Outsiders War," as well as The Silencer, an assassin who was just recently introduced as part of the New Age of DC Heroes. The only character bother versions of the team share is Red Dart.

When the series returns next week, we should find out more about the secret history of the Longbow Hunters, and just what makes them so mythical.
