Arrow's First Season 7 Synopsis Teases a Major New Villain

This fall, Arrow will see Oliver Queen singing the "Folsom Prison Blues." Per a new synopsis for Season 7, the former Green Arrow -- who was imprisoned for his vigilante acts -- will be forced to contend with the villains he has locked away since the show began... but that's not all. A mysterious new villain will attempt to undo all the good he has done, even as he fights to survive life at Slabside Maximum Security Prison.

According to Warner Bros. Television’s description for the Arrow Comic-Con International in San Diego panel,

There has been no shortage of close calls for Oliver Queen when it comes to protecting his Super Hero identity, but in the season six finale, he was finally backed into a corner and forced to reveal himself to the world as the Green Arrow. Now, Oliver will come face-to-face with many of the criminals he placed behind bars, as he makes a new home for himself at Slabside Maximum Security Prison. Oliver will find himself vulnerable in a way unlike ever before when a mysterious new enemy begins to unravel his work as Green Arrow, challenging him to redeem his name or risk losing everything.

In the Season 6 finale, Oliver Queen revealed he is the Green Arrow on live television. Following his arrest by FBI Agent Samandra Watson, he was swarmed by the media. Presented with the opportunity, he looked straight into the camera and said, “I am the Green Arrow.” He then proceeded to give a short speech, where he confessed that he let other people take the fall for him. Following his speech, he was transferred to Super Max, where the finale closed. Per this new Arrow Season 7 synopsis, it seems Oliver's new situation will put him in the crosshairs of the villains he has fought since he became the Green Arrow, as well as a new over-arching antagonist.
