Ricardo "The Dragon" Diaz isn't even dealt with yet, and already a dangerous new threat is coming for the Green Arrow. Ahead of tonight's Season 6 finale, Arrow showrunner Marc Guggenheim revealed that the episode will tease the debut of a DC villain team well-known to comic book fans: the Longbow Hunters.

In an interview with TVLine, Guggenheim confirmed that the finale will namedrop the villainous organization. "I will say that the reference to the Longbow Hunters is us planting a flag, much the same way we referenced Damien Darhk in the Season 3 finale," the showrunner said.

What's more, it appears as if this is a first taste of the threats to come in next fall's Season 7. "We would be [not nice people] to name-drop the Longbow Hunters and not see them in Season 7."

The Longbow Hunters are a team of supervillains which debuted in the New 52 era of DC Comics, in Green Arrow #31 by Jeff Lemire and Andrea Sorrentino. The team was assembled by Richard Dragon (aka Ricardo Diaz on Arrow), and it was comprised of members such as Brick, Count Vertigo, Killer Moth and Red Dart.

The Season 6 finale will mark Guggenheim's final episode as co-showrunner of the series. Wendy Mericle and he will both step down after tonight's episode, with Beth Schwartz stepping in to replace them.
