After Arrow's Emily Bett Rickards announced her departure from the show, it seemed as if another, Katie Cassidy, would be following suit on this week's episode. Fortunately, Cassidy is sticking around for now despite bad Laurel Lance heading back to Earth 2, says one of the show's top producers.

Showrunner Beth Schwartz talked to TVLine at the Writers Guild Foundation’s yearly WGFestival earlier in the month and said that it may look like Katie Cassidy is leaving the show, but she actually isn't.

“Katie does not leave the show; she comes back this season,” said Schwartz. “It appears like [she leaves], but it’s not true. She’s still [part of the show].”

Cassidy, who's been a regular cast member on Arrow since its first season, took a sabbatical from the hit CW staple once already after the Earth-1 version of Laurel was killed by Damien Darhk. She returned as Laurel's dark Earth-2 doppelganger, who masquerades as Black Siren. Failing to turn over a new life, she reverted to old habits and broke bad again.
