A new sizzle reel for the sixth season of the CW’s Arrow teases a major moment for the Wilson family. The video introduces Arrow fans to Liam Hall, who will play Joe Wilson, the son of Slade Wilson, otherwise known as the international assassin Deathstroke. It looks like Joe will be on the hunt for revenge, specifically against the man who took his father’s eye – Oliver Queen, the Green Arrow himself.
“You showed me a long time ago there are no true heroes or villains, only winners and losers,” Hall’s Joe Wilson says in the video, seemingly addressing his father. “And I know which I want to be – an eye for an eye.” The final line is delivered right as a knife hovers inches from Oliver’s eye.
Why is the Wilson family so obsessed with eyes? Well, Slade lost his eye in a fight with Oliver aboard the Amazo after he injected numerous prisoners with the Mirakuru, a Japanese super solider serum that drives anyone who uses it mad with rage. Oliver fights Wilson in a bid to escape and wins, seemingly killing the assassin by driving an arrow into his eye. Slade didn’t die, though. He escaped the ship and set course for Star City, which he attacked to find Oliver and take his revenge. It seems like Joe will be looking to settle the score in the coming season.
Debuting on Oct. 12, the season six premiere of Arrow is “Fallout.” Developed by Greg Berlanti, Marc Guggenheim and Andrew Kreisberg, Arrow stars Stephen Amell, Katie Cassidy, Colin Donnell, David Ramsey, Willa Holland, Susanna Thompson, Paul Blackthorne, Emily Bett Rickards, Colton Haynes, Manu Bennett, John Barrowman, Echo Kellum and Josh Segarra.
