It's official: Arrow Season 6 has kicked off production. Executive producer Marc Guggenheim marked the occasion with a Tweet revealing the cover page of the premiere episode script, which shows the title: "Fallout."

Guggenheim co-wrote the premiere episode with fellow executive producer Wendy Mericle. The premiere will be helmed by James Bamford, the show's stunt choreographer-turned-director.

Beyond that, however, not much is known about Season 6. At the end of the Season 5 finale, the series teased multiple — and major — casualties after Prometheus blew up the island while Felicity, Dig, Thea, Curtis, Renee, Dinah, Slade “Deathstroke” Wilson, Nyssa al Ghul and William’s mother Samantha Clayton were still on it. Midway through the episode, Felicity discovered with horror that the whole island was rigged with hundreds of explosives; what’s worse, these explosives were connected to Adrian Chase himself. So long as Chase was alive, the bombs wouldn’t go off; however, if he was killed, all of the bombs would detonate. So, at the end of the episode, he shot himself in the head to teach Oliver a lesson and triggered all the bombs on the island. Oliver and William watched in horror as the whole island went up in flames, and the episode drew to a close.

Of course, it seems unlikely that every member of Team Arrow died on the island tonight. After all, The CW announced that Rick Gonzalez (Renee “Wild Dog” Ramirez), Juliana Harkavy (Dinah “Black Canary” Drake) and Katie Cassidy (Earth-2’s Laurel “Black Siren” Lance) had been upped to series regulars for Season 6 last month. Nevertheless, that doesn’t mean everyone is safe, so it wouldn’t be entirely surprising to see most — if not all — of Team Arrow back this fall. Further, Artemis and Talia al Ghul were on the island when it exploded, so their fates are also up in the air.

According to the synopsis for Season 6,

After a violent shipwreck, billionaire playboy Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) was missing and presumed dead for five years before being discovered alive on a remote island in the North China Sea. He returned home to Star City, bent on righting the wrongs done by his family and fighting injustice. As the Green Arrow, he protects his city with the help of former soldier John Diggle (David Ramsey), computer-science expert Felicity Smoak (Emily Bett Rickards), his vigilante-trained sister Thea Queen (Willa Holland), Deputy Mayor Quentin Lance (Paul Blackthorne), brilliant inventor Curtis Holt (Echo Kellum), and his new recruits, street-savvy Rene Ramirez (Rick Gonzalez) and meta-human Dinah Drake (Juliana Harkavy). Oliver has finally solidified and strengthened his crime-fighting team only to have it threatened when unexpected enemies from his past return to Star City, forcing Oliver to rethink his relationship with each member of his ‘family.’

Starring Stephen Amell as the Emerald Archer, Arrow returns Thursday, October 12 at 9pm ET/PT on The CW. The series also stars Emily Bett Rickards, David Ramsey, Willa Holland and more.
