Arrow: The Three Questions Lingering After the Season 6 Premiere

Fans finally learned who lived to fight crime another day in the Season 6 premiere of Arrow. While that important question was answered, a whole new set of questions was introduced before the episode ended.

The first question is, "What's the deal with Diggle?" A flashback to the island showed Diggle barely escaping as he was swarmed by an explosion's backdraft. However, a closer inspection revealed Diggle didn't walk away unscathed. Right before the camera fades from the flashback, a piece of large shrapnel can be seen heading straight at Diggle's right side. Back at Team Arrow's HQ, Diggle is shown nursing a large scar going down the right part of his chest and stomach.

This injury could have something to do with Diggle's normally accurate aim being a little off. During a battle on a bridge, he attempts to shoot a criminal and misses wildly; the camera lingering on his shaky right hand. Dinah even questions Diggle about this, discovering that he's not using live rounds.

Is Diggle hiding an injury suffered in the chaos on Lian Yu? It certainly looks that way.

The second question deals with the fallout from Lian Yu, and the evil Earth-2 Black Siren. In order to save Dinah from Black Siren, Quentin had to kill his daughter's doppelganger with a gunshot. The pair believed Black Siren to be dead, so they left her corpse on the island and told the rest of Team Arrow they found her dead and buried under rubble. However, Black Siren is the primary antagonist for much of the premiere.

So, how is Black Siren alive? Another flashback shows a helicopter flying to what's left of Lian Yu after everyone's departed. A mysterious figure steps off the helicopter and extends an arm to Black Siren, who awakens and takes it. Was she always alive and just faking her death, or did this person revive her? The setup was almost perfect for former Arrow villain Damian Darhk to make his presence felt again, if it weren't for him being tied up on DC's Legends of Tomorrow.

The last and most intriguing question has to do with Oliver Queen's secret identity as the Green Arrow being leaked on the evening news. Felicity calls Oliver, asking him to turn to a local news channel, where they witness a photo of an unmasked Oliver dressed in his Green Arrow suit. Keep in mind this isn't the first time Oliver's secret identity has been revealed, but it's the first while he's been mayor of Star City.

While Oliver goes on the defensive to cover his Arrow tracks, we're left to ponder who would want to expose him.

Arrow is a production of Berlanti Productions developed by Greg Berlanti, Marc Guggenheim and Andrew Kreisberg. The show stars Stephen Amell, Katie Cassidy, Colin Donnell, David Ramsey, Willa Holland, Susanna Thompson, Paul Blackthorne, Emily Bett Rickards, Colton Haynes, Manu Bennett, John Barrowman, Echo Kellum and Josh Segarra.
