David Ramsey, who plays John Diggle/Spartan on The CW's Arrow, is excited for HBO Max's upcoming Green Lantern series.

“I’ve talked to Greg [Berlanti] about it, and they have a great plan," Ramsey said of the series to TVLine. "It sounds fantastic. People are champing at the bit to see this universe, to see this military corp come to live-action, and I’m among the people who are so excited." Ramsey went on to say that he believes people will be excited about the Green Lantern series.

The CW's recent "Crisis on Infinite Earths" crossover hinted at the Green Lantern Corps being involved in the Arrowverse by revealing the planet of Oa, which is a key location for the team in the comics. The Arrowverse has also hinted on several occasions that Ramsey's Diggle would become a Green Lantern. However, there has been no official word on if Ramsey will be joining the cast of the series.

HBO Max's Green Lantern series is said to be based around the origins of two Green Lanterns, who have yet to be named. The popular Green Lantern villain Sinestro will also appear in the series.

Green Lantern has not yet announced a cast or release date. The streaming service is due to launch in May 2020.
